I admit I was surprised when I saw this new thread had new posts!
No, what we're seeing is idiots.DeadPoolX wrote: ↑Thu Nov 22, 2018 7:56 am Plus, perspective can change over time. We have evidence of this now with some very loud YouTubers who bemoan TLJ and yet continually praise the prequels. When someone says that The Phantom Menace was a better movie than The Last Jedi or that Jar-Jar Binks was less annoying than Rose, we're obviously seeing firsthand a case of "time heals all wounds."
On the Twitter-Verse, back when The Last Jedi was getting so much hate (since I actually enjoyed it) - I was actively hunting down #TheLastJedi hashtags and purposely engaging people who bitched about it - especially if they said the prequels (Episodes I, II and III) were better.
I thought when they learned about the arms dealer playing both sides, was absolutely great.
That is a scene that I admit, I didn't like. And it's the only thing, really, that I didn't like about The Last Jedi.DeadPoolX wrote: ↑Thu Nov 22, 2018 7:56 am Leia floating in space makes sense when you consider that Luke would've likely taught Leia a few things over the years. Remember, she was considered powerful enough to be Obi-Wan and Yoda's second choice if Luke died or turned to the Dark Side. And she didn't "fly in space." All she would've needed was a tiny push with the Force and she'd keep going (because that's how outer space works).
The only reason I somewhat dislike this now is because of Carrie Fisher's death, so Leia dying here would've worked nicely. Better yet, she could've gone on the kamikaze run. Unfortunately, no one knew Fisher would die when she did.
To me, when Kylo hesitated, but the other TIE Fighters didn't - and it appears Leia died - I thought that would have been a great moment to push Kylo to question everything.
And would have, in the end, been a pretty good reason he turned on Snoke, doubting that Snoke's way was the right way - and that he'd just take over himself and do things right.
I think people wanted Luke vs Kylo, not sure much Luke destroy everything. But a Luke vs Kylo seems light it would have been an ending fight scene for the movie.
Agreed, if CHARACTER_01 had questioned Holdo, no one would have blinked an eye that someone dared question her and she didn't tell them. But because the movie put such a spotlight on Poe, everyone expects that he should be treated differently.DeadPoolX wrote: ↑Thu Nov 22, 2018 7:56 am Finally, there's the one complaint that really ticks me off every time I hear it: "Why didn't Admiral Holdo just tell Poe her plans?" Why? Why would she?!
Holdo is an admiral. She is Poe's superior officer. In the military, you DO NOT openly question your commanding officer. Your job is to shut up, say "yes sir!" and follow orders (unless the orders have you committing a war crime, in which case you have to report your CO).
But even if Holdo was going to tell someone, why Poe?
