All the more replay value! Have you tried to "Hold up bank" or "Kill teller" for instance? :)

So I decide while I am at it, I could get the remaining missing points. Which I do. I get all 60 out of 60. But... I don't have time to do everything before the ship sails so I will have to skip a few things. I'll have to be more careful with my time the next time through when I do Panama. I just seems like a waste to do all the artwork for the scenes and write all of the text descriptions and then force the player to rush through everything.

The ship departs at the 18 minute mark. Funny thing, you can actually watch it depart and move across the screens at a measured pace and follow it as it moves right. You can even see the ship move from one screen further down. That's actually a nice touch. I was expecting the ship to simply vanish when the time was up.

When I left this time, I placed the flowers on the grave. This time, the game gave me a different hint as to what I was missing: that there was information in my office. I didn't look at the clipping this time around because of time.

Nearly finished with my second playthrough. I'm in California now. I didn't encounter any random deaths using the Cape Horn route. The overland route seemed to have had more puzzles to solve. I do like the details they put into each trip. It's easy to forget how arduous these trips were. There's also the fact that you have to leave everyone behind. At the time, it's almost certain that you will never see your friends and loved ones again.

Yes. Does he die at the end of the trip? Each time I spoke with him he got more and more sick. The game says someone died near the end, but it doesn't specifically mention Eric. I don't see him after that.

You may notice he disappears towards the later sections. If you type "FIND ERIC" then, you get the chilling message "Eric was buried at sea."

Just finished with the Cape Horn route. Final score was 175 out of 250. Having the different routes does add some replayability to the game. I am now off to go via Panama. This time I think I should be able to get all of the points in New York.

Other obervations: The branding iron does not match the brand it leaves on the mule. It is backwards.

Also, a small bug in the inventory screen. This was taken after the game ended.

Oh, dear ... you can't use that branding iron on people, can you? Or on yourself? :P

(Inquiring minds wish to know ... of course it would probably be game over!) :P

This is one of the reasons I love the game; and for a game, back in the day, it seemed very detailed.

Dude. Of the many times I played it - I never noticed that!

The glitch was intentional, it's even mentioned in the hint book! You now have more money than you can count!

The brand would be easy to fix. Just flip one of the views
