What are you playing now?
Re: What are you playing now?
No life just went ahead of him. I offered to do this because I didn't want the community to perish since I wanted to play more Cluedo.

Re: What are you playing now?
I just got an Xbox One, my first console Since I picked up a PS3 in 2012. I'm planning to try Alien: Isolation soon. Any recommendations from console players on other titles? Any style or genre, really.

One of my hands down favorite games on the XBOX consoles has been GEARS OF WAR. Normally not the shooter type; but GEARS OF WAR has such a great story that goes with it, and the characters are fun! The first Gears I beat in every mode possible. Second Gears, I did the same (maybe didn't finish Nightmare mode or whatever it is on GoW2... I can't recall). GoW3 I beat more times than I can count. The other GoW (it's not IV, there was an offshoot, whose name is slipping my mind), I beat twice. Then GoW4 I beat twice. And I have GoW5 pre-ordered.Semi-Happy Partygoer wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 10:21 am I just got an Xbox One, my first console Since I picked up a PS3 in 2012. I'm planning to try Alien: Isolation soon. EDIT: The non numerical is Gears of War: Judgement.
EDIT: I also got the Gears of War Ultimate, which is the Gears of War 1 game with extra gameplay to go through. Beat that twice.

Re: What are you playing now?
And - not Gears of War related... I just beat Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 on the Switch.
Overall it was ... just OK. The idea of them having different powers seemed useless as there was always too much noise on the screen to notice it. There are points where it looks like an odd mixture of hand art and computer animation. The story was predictable. It’s more of a button masher than anything. It had some cool appearances of characters I wasn’t expecting to see (and wish were unlockable to actually play). 5 out of 10 for me.

Not surprised, no. I'd be more surprised if you hated it.

I managed to refrain from playing tonight (I want to make sure I don't beat it before the weekend is done; so I can play on the weekend!)Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 12:07 am Not surprised, no. I'd be more surprised if you hated it.
Managed to do more of those character background requests from the other forum tonight! So it felt good to write.

Not playing much games due to lack of time, but my current "open" gaming projects are:
Red Alert 3 (with Tim Curry in the cutscenes)
Avernum: Escape from the pit (latest remake of Avernum 1)
Zelda 1 (second quest)
I recently finished Zelda 1 (normal quest) for the very first time!

Red Alert 3? Nice! The cutscenes are legendarily over the top - even for Tim Curry.Qbix wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 6:16 am Not playing much games due to lack of time, but my current "open" gaming projects are:

Re: What are you playing now?
Just finished GEARS OF WAR 5...
They save the emotional heart string tugs for near the end... that's for damn sure.
They pull a "Mass Effect"... and if you play Gears 5, you will know what I mean....
I am ready for Gear 6, now, please. NOW.

Re: What are you playing now?
I've been playing Wolfenstein 3D for quite a while now. Managed to get 100% on every episode and now I'm just trying to shave down my times so that I can get the par time bonuses and try to get the highest score possible. So far Episode 3 seems to be the easiest to do this. E1M1 I was 1 second too slow. Episode 2 is freaking hard but I'm getting there. Some of these levels are just impossible to get 100% and make the par time, though.
Forget episodes 4-6. They suck. lol

I've been playing "LEGO Batman 3" with my son these past couple days (free on the Epic Games store this week!) These games are super-fun, great for two players, and I highly recommend almost any of the LEGO games if the kid in you wants to break some bricks and enjoy some goofy fan-service.

Re: What are you playing now?
I just finished Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and am still reeling. I've never played such an inventive and emotionally intense game before. I'll have to replay it to more fully understand the story, but not immediately. I think I need to recover from the first go!
It'd pack a punch under any circumstances, but the timing of my playthrough may have amplified the emotional experience. My spouse had to have emergency surgery last week after a long, tortuous period of excruciating pain. Had the doctors not caught the issue when they did, he would've died. So the themes of love and loss have been weighing heavily on me lately, and the game served as something of a catharsis after a hellish few weeks.
I might've picked something lighter for a diversion had I known how dark the game was beforehand, but at the same time, I think I needed this as an outlet to channel my own struggle.

Re: What are you playing now?
Having been on an Alien kick lately, I'm giving Alien: Isolation another try on my Xbox One.
I love the look and feel of the game, but my TV isn't huge and the text is so small that trying to read it gives me eye strain, so I can't play it for prolonged periods.
I've noticed small text appears to be a trend in newer games I've previewed. Apparently developers assume you're either using a PC monitor or a 60"+ television. A cursory search shows many others have opinions on the subject.

Warcraft 2. Just started it a few days ago, working through the Orc campaign.
