Nope.

I couldn't even accurately ask that since Manfred von Richthofen flew many different planes. I think he's often identified with the Fokker DR.I because it's the plane he was flying when he was shot down and killed.

No, I am not a plane.
Rath Darkblade wrote: Fri Nov 13, 2020 11:02 pm World War 1 planes were made from fabric and wood, at least to start with, so I don't think it would be a plane. Then again, I've never played this game. *goes away and looks it up* Ah-ha! I thought you could be the Red Baron's pistol, but obviously not. Therefore ...

Are you an anti-aircraft weapon?
No, the object I'm thinking of is neither an AA gun nor a handheld weapon.

WW1 planes were made from a combination of wood, metal, and canvas. It's no surprise they were sometimes called "flying coffins."

Here's a hint: It's something a very successful German officer might have on him. :)

Hmm - hold on! I think I know. A very successful German officer might have a monocle, but not every German officer wore one. He might have a medal, but so would a successful French, English, Russian etc. officers.

Would this be the Iron Cross Medal, by any chance? :) I'm pretty sure only the Germans awarded it.

No, it's not the Iron Cross (and there's more than one version of that), but you're definitely getting close.

And for the record, someone who needed a monocle wouldn't have been actively flying air combat missions in the first world war.

Tawmis wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 7:43 pm Blue Max (German: Blauer Max)?
Yes, that's it!

For reference, the term "Blue Max" is unofficial. It's real name is the Pour le Mérite.

Yes, that's French, despite it being a Prussian award and later given to German officers after German unification in the late 19th century.

Why? Well, back in 1740, King Frederick II of Prussia established the award and used French because it was considered the "leading international language" at the time. Also, French was popular in Frederick's court, so that might've been even more important as far as he was concerned. Whatever the case, the French name stuck, but later on people nicknamed it "the Blue Max."

Anyway... that's enough of a history lesson no one asked for, so it's your turn, Tawmis! :)

Yeah, that took some googling after you hint. Wasn't sure if it was called by it's official name in the game (Pour le Mérite) since it was French or if they called it by the German name in the game.

That said, got one in mind, don't expect it to last long. :D

As I said, this should be easy.
