I am still thinking about picking this up on GOG. I have both GOG and Steam, so I don't need yet another "client".

The only reason I haven't picked this up yet (on sale -- I don't mind it, if the sales are good ) is the size. This monster is 14 GB. But all right, I picked up Witcher 2, and that one is 23 GB.

So I'll pick this up on GOG or Steam when it's next on sale. I just have three adventure games I'd like to finish, too ...

Yeah. But it's FREE on Epic. You won't even have to pay anything. Other than for the download.

EPIC releases free games ALL THE TIME. I literally have a library full of games, I may one day play, just because I got them free.

OK ... but I need download yet another "client" program (e.g. like the Steam or GOG ones), right? Only this one is made by Epic.

Yes. If anything - download the EPIC client, get PILLARS OF ETERNITY, uninstall the EPIC client. And just install it again when the day comes you may wanna play Pillars of Eternity.

You don't even need the client to get the game into your Epic library. You can do it through the website.

Hmm. What's your take on The White March, Tawm? *curious* Is it necessary for playing the game, or is it "nice to have"?

I've also noticed that PoE (and its DLCs) are on sale at GOG. That leads on to my next question:

1. PoE1 is 6.4 GB;
2. PoE1: The White March is 4 GB;
3. And PoE1: Deadfire Pack is 14 GB.

Any idea what's happening there? Why is the "Deadfire Pack" so much bigger than the rest?

I mean, all the DLCs are just extra adventures (and NPCs to join), which were all fun - so it's all nice to have. But doesn't the Definitive edition have them all, if you're grabbing it from EPIC?

If you didn't get it on EPIC and sticking to GOG, I'd say get the original game (if it's on sale) before getting the DLC. See if you enjoy the game, first.

Otherwise, get it from EPIC if it's still free, and get it all.

I guess I'll grab the GOG pack, first, and see how I like it. (There's another game at GOG that I've waited for ages to go on sale, so maybe I'll grab them both).

Well, GOG's having their winter sale right now, so it's a good time to get them.

Honestly, if you're gonna pay for PoE, don't do it if it's something that's never grabbed your attention. I enjoyed it immensely, but every enjoys different things - and if it looks like it's not up your alley - don't pay for it, especially since I know it's an ENORMOUS download. Don't want you to waste money and time on it, if you might not enjoy it.

Recommend looking at some play through videos first, see if it's up your alley.
