SHP #2 Poll: Best Sierra Arcade game (round 1)
I'll go for Load Runner, though Oil's Well is a close second, because of the funny clips after each level.

I went with Hunter Hunted. It was able to hold me longer at play before I got bored with it than the others.

Another vote for Hunter Hunted. I only played this one and Oil's Wells and, well, I really sucked at Oil, while HH kept me busy and entertained for a while.

I did THEXTER because it's the only one I played out of the ones listed.

I'm surprised Stellar-7 wasn't included in that list.
I voted for Hunter Hunted for two reasons, both of which somehow involve two of my all-time favorite game series.
1. It's chronologically the first game in the Earthsiege/Starsiege/Tribes universe.
2. The beast, Garathe Den, came from a planet called "Kullrathe." That's an obvious nod to the Wing Commander series, whose enemies were called the "Kilrathi" (but their home world was Kilrah).

Out of all of these, I've only played Lode Runner: The Legend Returns.

I've never played a single one! Am I missing out?
Re: SHP #2 Poll: Best Sierra Arcade game (round 1)
Only if you like arcade type games. A couple of them are not purely arcade games. Lode Runner is a puzzle/arcade game and Hunter Hunted is usually referred to a side scroller action or shooter game.Jules wrote:I've never played a single one! Am I missing out?

Never played HH, but I gotta go with Thexder. Specifically Firehawk, even though they didn't really create either games themselves. I found it interesting to play the original Japanese MSX rom versions with way more detailed animations and things going on and the alternate soundtracks.

The only one I played is Thexder and I can't say that I cared for it much. I kept changing back and forth between forms when I didn't want to.

Sheesh. I played Lode Runner (the original) on my old Commodore 64. (shows how old I am)
To be honest, I thought the "Three Vikings" game (I'm not sure what the name of it is, or how old it is) was great fun. But it's not made by Sierra, of course.

"The Lost Vikings" . I actually have it, even though it's indeed not a Sierra game . I love it: great puzzles, great variety, great humor the whole game through.Rath Darkblade wrote:To be honest, I thought the "Three Vikings" game (I'm not sure what the name of it is, or how old it is) was great fun. The same company and publisher (Silicon & Synapse and Interplay) that made The Lost Vikings also produced one of my favorite SNES games: Rock 'n' Roll Racing.
In fact, Olaf (from TLV) makes an appearance as an "unlockable racer" and has the best overall stats in the game!
