What are the two points for? *curious* Does it give you two points for starting the game? ;)

Hah! That's a screenshot within a screenshot. It's the splash screen "Police Quest II" that I photoshop'ed into the computer found in Police Quest II's headquarters.

So by this point - I'd earned two points for opening the glove box and finding two items and for remembering to take my keys out of the car.

Heh - I've barely gotten very far, so far - but you should see the saucy comments I type when the game says or does something. I usually type a funny (I think it's funny, anyway!) response.

The game, naturally always says something like, "I don't know what you want me to do with that."

Ah, yes. Though it would be interesting if PQ gave you saucy answers back. Like ...

"Load gun"
"The gun is not software. You cannot load it."

"Fire gun"
"You cannot sack the gun. It is not an employee."

"Use gun"
"For what?"

"FIRE THE DARN GUN!"
"All right, already!

In a display of astounding stupidity, you light a bonfire and toss your gun on it. It quickly catches fire. The resulting pyrotechnics when the bullet is expelled out of the chamber are interesting, but you probably shouldn't have peered into the barrel.

Thank you for playing Police Quest ][ . Next time, don't do that!"

Well, I beat Police Quest II.

Only had to look up how to get the warrant at the hotel.

I KNEW I had to get the warrant and I tried to phrase it 600 different ways.

But finally had to break down and look up the exact phrasing. I feel like that's the ONLY weak thing about the game was that one moment.

It's not the only game where that happens. The same thing happens in LSL2 (especially on Nontoonyt Island, and even more so near the end).

PQ is sometimes more exacting than other games, because you have to follow the procedure exactly right -- otherwise, you're a "bad cop". :P

(By the way, what did you think of my re-imaginings of PQ2's answers to Sonny trying to fire his gun?) ;)

It was very similar to my attempts to get the warrant. :D

Eh? PQ2 was giving you deliberately smart-aleck replies? ;)

I vaguely remember having an issue with this. It's "radio warrant", right?

Correct. I was admittedly VERY annoyed that I had to resort to a Walk Through to find it's a VERY specific phrase. That was weak sauce, because I tried SO MANY different things to ask for a warrant. I asked Keith. I asked Swat. Tried to use the radio. Phrase it all different ways.

Non Commentary version - lands at a hair over 5 hours long.

If you want to watch the warrant debacle - head here.

And watch me get gunned down a few times by Jessie Bains in the sewer.

Thanks, Tawm! ;) I skipped here and there, looking for whoever NBH might be in Lytton. :D

Some things that jumped out at me off the bat:

1. Keith smoking in your car. And in the office. Nowadays that would be a huge no-no.

2. Sonny at the airport, holding a confidential conversation in front of witnesses. (How does he know that the airport clerk isn't an accomplice? Or that the random strangers aren't?)

3. Sonny at the airport, talking to the random blond dude and mistaking him for a woman.

4. Larry. :P And the person sitting next to Larry! "Guys in white suits are a real drag." ;)

Hah! Glad to video could be used for the community game!

The commentary version is uploading now and should be available soon - but I probably won't post the link here till tomorrow.

Then they must have never hung around with Steve Martin during his stadium concerts of the mid-1970s!

Supposedly he wore white suits so the people in the back rows would be able to see him on stage...
