I don't think I've ever seen that box for UNREAL.

That's a game I miss. Back when I worked at Pfizer, we'd play this on the work LAN for lunch.

This just came in the mail. Bought it for $12 free shipping on Ebay. I'm on a mission to collect all ports and rereleases of Myst and all its sequels. This is one of the worse ports of the first Myst. Some hotspots are frustrating but there are some neat features like a photo capture and a magnifying glass (which is a must have for reading the various notes and journals in the game). It even includes the bonus Rime Age from realMyst on the PC, but the hotspots are way worse in that one. I'm not even sure how to solve that age because of some frustrating control schemes.

At least it's better than the 3DS port which uses graphics from realMyst and not the original, doesn't use the stylus (because the game view is on the top screen of the 3DS), the magnifying glass doesn't help at all it just blows up the low res image showcasing the image compression and pixelation so it's useless, and the photo capture feature simply DOES NOT WORK. The worst part of it is the cursor is controlled with the circle pad and when you let go of it it snaps the cursor back to the center of the screen like a joystick. The 3DS port myst have been designed by monkeys. It is the single worst port of Myst and anything else I've ever played. It's just straight up broken and I can't believe they asked money for it. But this original DS port is at least playable.

I assume your Myst post is for the actual Acquisitions thread - and not the first person shooter (which split from aforementioned thread). So I will go ahead and move it there. :D

Had a way too good day at the second-hand shop, had to go home without the groceries after buying 6 Sierra boxes plus some heavy books :D

That's so cool. I wish I could find solid second hand shops that had Sierra stuff around San Diego.

Have you ever played Torin's before? If not you have a treat in store.

Yeah I know and love Torin :D
Am looking forward to TIM, had never heard of Aces Of Europe or Morphy before. Didn't have a Torin box yet and an also happy with the others.

Bear in mind I visit the same shops every two weeks and more often than not, there is no game at all. Or it's the same old stock they can't shift, think old FIFA games or Sims or those hidden object games. This is the first time I got this many games in box in at least ten years, and the first time I've seen a Sierra game in box in at least 2 years.
So I got really lucky :D

I've gotten some Dr. Brain games -- Time Warp, Lost Mind, and Island. The only one left in the Sierra series is Castle of Dr. Brain. I'll be keeping an eye out on eBay for the Sierra Originals release of that.

By the way, I did some investigation into the Dr. Brain franchise. Around 1998. Knowledge Adventure (now JumpStart Games) acquired the franchise and made their own games in the series; Mind Venture and Action Reaction are currently available from Selectsoft. JumpStart Games also owns the Davidson properties (i.e. Math Blaster). I've been working on getting those games to run on modern Windows, and have reported my findings here at VOGONS.

Very cool! And congrats! I was - and still am (from the last time I loaded up a Doctor Brain game a year ago when I was installing all my games for my Sierra channel which I have been horribly neglecting) - horrible at those games. :D

Over the past month I've been getting parcels for Myst big boxes. The laat ones finally came in today. Here they are on the shelf. Myst 5th Anniversary was too big for the shelf so it sits in behind the others. Nice to have these finally!

Never did show off my acquisition of all the King's Quest boxes (sans collections). KQ7 is a french box but who cares. It's got a slip cover like the older games so it fits right in in my book :D. I'm missing some variant covers (KQ1-3 gray boxes, KQ2-3 brown boxes, KQ1 gold box, KQ1 PCjr box, the Peter Pan KQ5 box, the various KQ6 coloured boxes) but the only true one I'm really wanting to get besides the collections that I'm missing at this point is KQ1SCI. That's a lovely box and my second favourite KQ box design next to the blue-marble KQ5 box. My KQ5 box is fairly sun faded actually and even a bit yellowed which is a shame, so I'll have to get another one of those. But it's low priority.

Also, I have two KQ3 boxes because one is for the Tandy CoCo3 which my dad got when I was a kid along with the DOS versions of KQ2 and KQ3 so those I've had for ages. MOE my dad bought brand new as well. The rest are all recent additions in the past year (or two?). And yes, that is the KQ5NES cart on top of the boxes on the shelf.

EDIT: Not sure what's going on with the attachments. I'm seeing doubles of one image but when I edit the post it only says there's one attachment. Weird.
