It was fun finding some creepy music to make a "Halloween" Sierra themed video.

Re: Happy Halloween!
Happy Hallowe'en. I hope it passed without serious incident (like bigger kids grabbing all the candy/lollies and refusing to share with the smaller kids!)
Did anyone dress up, or is it only for kids? *curious* Over here, Hallowe'en is only for kids (though I do see an adult or three dressing up too).

Still early here (West Coast, 1:45pm) - but 2020 was the first year I've not dressed up in YEARS.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 4:38 pm Happy Hallowe'en. I hope it passed without serious incident (like bigger kids grabbing all the candy/lollies and refusing to share with the smaller kids!)

And long story so I won't go into it - but two days ago (Friday Night) we were in the ER - and plenty of adults/teens there dressed in Halloween costumes (undoubtedly there after a Halloween party).
This year, I won't be dressing up again. Just too much in life happening at the moment.
EDIT -
Did this as a fun edit of the Johnny Castaway Halloween video -

Re: Happy Halloween!
Depends on the reason for dressing up.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 4:38 pm Did anyone dress up, or is it only for kids? *curious* Over here, Hallowe'en is only for kids (though I do see an adult or three dressing up too).
If you're talking about going door-to-door and getting candy, then that's SUPPOSED to be for kids, despite some adults and teens trying it in their normal clothes, which is pathetic on multiple levels. My Dad has two bowls of candy: one for the kids with better candy, and the other for adults and teens with worse candy or candy that's left over from the previous year.
The main reason adults (and some teenagers) will dress up is if they're attending a Halloween party. For instance... back in 2015, Maia and I attended a Halloween party at the Royal Museum BC Museum where we dressed up as a couple from the 1950s. We were originally going to go as a couple from the 1940s, but I couldn't find a reasonably authentic WW2-era USAAF officer's uniform* and Maia had trouble getting the "victory roll hairstyle" to work right.
* I know most people wouldn't have been able to tell one military uniform from another (especially a WW2 variant) but I could and was disgusted with the available options and how inaccurate they were. I saw so-called officer uniforms with sergeant stripes on the arms. A sergeant of any type is an non-commissioned officer, not a commissioned officer and wouldn't have been a pilot; maybe a gunner or technician on a bomber, but not a pilot.
"Er, Tawni, not Tawmni, unless you are doing drag."

Re: Happy Halloween!
Oh, that's fair enough (re: the dress-up party). Over here, only a few people (as far as I know) do trick-or-treating, and it's only kids -- accompanied by adults, of course, for safety's sake.
I've never heard of adults trick-or-treating. Sheesh. It's fair enough if they want to keep their kids safe, but ...
I think I've seen enough uniforms to at least tell one service from another. IIRC, WW2 navy uniforms are blue, army uniforms are khaki (or olive), and air-force are also olive - but with the little "wings" pins (i.e. air-force) on the lapels and above the breast pocket. Is that right?
