Is the word "Cross" in the title of the game?

I'm sorry; I didn't mean to. *blush* Please go ahead, and I'll give a clue regardless of the question. :) (Of course, I won't give a complete spoiler unless asked to!) ;)

Whoops! My reply was to DPX, sorry.

No, the word "Cross" is not part of the title.

BIG Clue: It is a reference to one of the Crusading orders, who are part of the title.

Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars?

(Oddly enough, it's known as Broken Sword: Circle of Blood in the US. Not sure why, but there's probably some ridiculous reason for it.)

DPX is correct! :)

I don't know why it was known as "Circle of Blood" in the US either. *shrug* Charles Cecil, the creator of the Broken Sword series, was uneasy about the name change because he feared it would restrict sales. (Besides, "Shadow of the Templars" makes complete sense in the context of the game).

Your turn, DPX!

I remember a computer game that's a rogue-like deck-builder and involves choosing two factions (one primary, one secondary) to fight your way to end and defeat a major boss who can appear in different forms.

(Follow the links posted above if you don't know anything about the genres I posted.)

Heh. Would it be Banner of Ruin which released July 2021? :)

Nope. In the game I'm thinking of, you don't outfit any of your characters; in fact, in this game you don't technically have characters so much as cards that generate characters.

Is the game based on a large IP (such as Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, etc)?

No, it's not based on any well-known IP. As far as I know, it's strictly a video game (i.e. has no physical game available) and is sold on both GOG and Steam.

Not sure how many more clues you can give if this isn't right.

Is it Slay The Spire?

No, that's not it. The game I'm thinking of was released more recently and was heavily influenced by StS as well.

BTW... I like how you split Slay the Spire's name/links between Steam and GOG. :D
