Yeah, that's why I said "one of" - because there's only a ZILLION of them.
OK. Maybe not a zillion. But quite a few!
So, according to this Wiki about XCOM, was this game made before 2000?

Yes, this game was definitely created and released before 2000.Tawmis wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 1:17 pmYeah, that's why I said "one of" - because there's only a ZILLION of them.

Perfect! So, according to this Wiki about XCOM, was the DEVELOPER SOLELY Micropose? (So not Micropose & Someone else, or just someone else)DeadPoolX wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 5:02 pmYes, this game was definitely created and released before 2000.Tawmis wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 1:17 pmYeah, that's why I said "one of" - because there's only a ZILLION of them.

No, the developer was MicroProse AND another company... and now you're down to two options.Tawmis wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 5:16 pmPerfect! Yup! Either way, it would have given me two options!DeadPoolX wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 5:45 pmNo, the developer was MicroProse AND another company... and now you're down to two options.Tawmis wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 5:16 pmPerfect! Correct! Even today, it's still an impressive game. A bit unwieldy, but considering it was released in the ealy 90s, that's to be expected for a game that complex.Tawmis wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 5:56 pmYup! #DetectiveWork
Allright - because it's the one I remembered the best - and would have been my initial guess...
Is it - UFO: Enemy Unknown (a.k.a. X-COM: UFO Defense)
I assumed it was (and was gonna make that my guess, even before asking if it was one of the X-COM games... but I figured, there's so many similar games, might as well cast a broader net and not try this DPX telepathy stuff)
Lego DC Super-Villains?
No, this game definitely was not any of the super hero LEGO games... In the game I am thinking of, you don't even get the option to control any of the main characters. You're a brand new character, who just just got their super powers.
Does this game involve actual superheroes (i.e. DC, Marvel, Image, etc) or are the superheroes all thinly-veiled knockoffs? (Yes, I know many of the superheroes under Image's label could be considered knockoffs of characters in DC and Marvel, but you know what I mean...)
Oh, it's definitely legitimate heroes from MARVEL. However, the one you control is a new hero. Not anyone who has existed before in any MARVEL comic, book, game, show, or movie.DeadPoolX wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 3:10 pmDoes this game involve actual superheroes (i.e. DC, Marvel, Image, etc) or are the superheroes all thinly-veiled knockoffs? X-Men: Destiny? I really had to look for this one because I'd NEVER heard of any Marvel game where you didn't play as some already-established Marvel character, so if that's not it, I have no idea.Tawmis wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 8:41 pmOh, it's definitely legitimate heroes from MARVEL. As you "level up" your character, so to speak - you can improve and branch out your power set.
The game - according to most reviews did HORRIBLY - but, I actually enjoyed it.
You have to decide between good and bad guys, throughout.
The only downside really, is that no matter what side you pick, you don't really change the story.
So it's pretty much an illusion of free choice and impact, unlike Mass Effect/Dragon Age/etc, which BIOWARE mastered.
It is, indeed X-Men: Destiny.DeadPoolX wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 12:02 amX-Men: Destiny?
