I am curious when I get Diablo IV, which I will get, if my wife will also play it like she did Diablo I, II and III. Because of her endless health issues, that may not be her thing anymore... But I hope she does, because it will remind me of simplier times.
Who else plans on getting Diablo IV?

Re: Diablo IV
I haven't played Diablo since the second one. It reminded me a little bit, game-play wise (but not story-wise), of the old "Gauntlet" game.
I enjoyed Diablo 2, but the only way to play it was with someone else. I tried playing it with a Canadian online friend, but our hours kept clashing (when he was online, I was fast asleep and vice-versa), so I regretfully had to drop it.
Oh well.

You don't NEED to play with someone else. I've beat all the Diablo games, so far, solo.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 3:40 pm I haven't played Diablo since the second one. It reminded me a little bit, game-play wise (but not story-wise), of the old "Gauntlet" game.

Re: Diablo IV
Oh? *surprised* I don't remember playing DIablo 2 except with someone else, online.
I do remember how tough it was. Regardless of what class I played, the computer-controlled mooks almost always zerg-rushed me. No strategy, no finesse, just zerg-rushing. Which led to my character dying over and over and over. Bleh.
Playing with someone else made Diablo 2 a little easier, but it felt like a very rough game. (Like Gauntlet).

Gauntlet's a lot tougher, especially since you can accidentally destroy the food when you (or a teammate) needs it.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 3:53 am Playing with someone else made Diablo 2 a little easier, but it felt like a very rough game. (Like Gauntlet).

One of the most frustrating (and sometimes, funny!) "Bro! Do you SEE my health? I needed that turkey!"DeadPoolX wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 9:17 pmGauntlet's a lot tougher, especially since you can accidentally destroy the food when you (or a teammate) needs it.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 3:53 am Playing with someone else made Diablo 2 a little easier, but it felt like a very rough game. Re: Diablo IV
Perhaps the first person who ever shot the turkey was inspired by the original Duke Nukem game ... where you could shoot a chicken leg ... and magically transform it into an entire cooked chicken.
Either that, or taking a leaf from Elmer Fudd and his killing of the wabbit. (Operas can't have happy endings!)
======
Anyway, as for Diablo 2 ... even on the easiest setting, the computer zerg-rushed me, especially on the last mission. Cue repeated character deaths and refusal to rage-quit. But eventually we took down the Big Bad. Hu-freakin'-zzah.
Diablo 2 was frustrating that way. Was Diablo III any easier? *curious* I'd never played it.

Re: Diablo IV
The hardest part of Diablo II for me was (if I am remembering correctly) - is the "12 council members" - because if you're melee, they just lob endless spells at you that stop, stun, burn, damage, etc.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 6:02 pm Diablo 2 was frustrating that way.
