I don't understand why they chose Chapter 3 as the demo one, but if you plan to buy and play the full game, beware: there are a lot of potential spoilers and playing immediately as David will somehow diminish the impact he will make once you play the full-fledged game.
That's really dumb to have a demo that doesn't start at the beginning, especially since it gives away info.

Thank for the warning, Andrea. I might have tried the demo, but I don't want anything spoiled. I'll just hold off and wait for the game itself to be released.

I didn't know Gray Matter was out already. I thought it was coming out later this year, but it's for sale on Amazon.com right now. A number of reviews are also available online.

I don't recall anyone mentioning it'd been released yet. I know Andrea and Jules had beta-tested it, but that's about it.

Sonofa! Yeah. I am surprised no one made mention of it - not even the company whose mailing list I am on!

It has already been released in Europe and available here as a digital download. It was just a matter of waiting for the hard copy release in the US, which had been scheduled for the end of February. It has been in Walmarts for at least a couple of weeks.

I have the Collector's Edition :D

Play the game. If you liked Gabriel Knight, you'll like Gray Matter, as long as you don't expect the same level of complexity.

Two weeks ago I went to every walmart (6 of them) best buy and target. I didn't see it anywhere and just gave up looking for it. Have you actually seen one there?

I was just in Target myself (to get cat food) and looked, and didn't see it. I will eventually order it from Amazon...

I got it yesterday at Walmart for $19

It will be a while before I have time to play it, though.

Looks like they don't carry it in Canada.

I've checked Best Buy, Walmart, Future Shop and even the software department in London Drugs. Even Amazon.ca doesn't have it.

We can order it from Amazon.com, but that means have to pay extra to get it here.

Oh well. Maia and I are busy with Dragon Age 2 and probably will be for quite a while, so we wouldn't start playing Gray Matter for some time.

Odd, I was under the idea that it was a North American release, not just US. I don't understand the was this game has been released. It is just encouraging piracy. You could just but a digital copy. There is nothing special about the packaging. Just a DVD case with slip cover.

GM is supposed to be available in Canada and as far as I can tell, there are no digital copies for download here. Amazon.ca doesn't one and neither does Steam.

One possible reason for the delay is the developer would have to make a French manual to go along with the English one. Canada has two official languages, so just about everything is written in both.

It's annoying because the only province that speaks French almost exclusively is Quebec. They want everything in French (and rarely write in English unless it's a tourist destination) and go so far as to actually dub English-speaking movies.

I am aware of the bilingual nature of Canada. I am not sure, but I believe that there has already been a French release in Europe. Even if not, there is no good reason that they could not offer the same release as in the US at least in some parts of Canada. There have been a lot of complaints about the release schedule of this game. It was poorly planned and has only encouraged piracy. But it seems like the property was poorly managed even during development. The fact of Jane Jensen's involvement may be the only reason that the game was allowed to see the light of day.

Just ordered mine from Amazon since I can't find it locally. Should be here in 2 or 3 days.

Won't probably get to it until I finish DRAGON AGE II... Just wanted to get it before the game sold out/became impossible to find.

I don't know how much time I'll be able to invest in it right now, but I did start it. My impression is more favorable than what the demo left me with.
