I'm sure this list isn't exhaustive, but here are my top favorites:
-The Fifth Element
-The Count of Monte Cristo (2002)
-The Lord of the Rings trilogy (although I take issue with a couple of aspects of the second two films)
-The Original Star Wars Trilogy (pre-Special Edition)
-Indiana Jones - Raiders & Crusade
-The Bourne Trilogy
-Life with Father
-It's a Wonderful Life
-The Sound of Music
-My Fair Lady
-Ocean's Eleven
-The Illusionist
-Die Hard 1-2
-Highlander
-The Patriot
-300
And my very favorite movie of all time:
-V for Vendetta

Listing all my favourite movies would take forever. I watch a scary amount of films.
If we're talking comfort films that I can go back to quite often: Chocolate, Amelie, Sneakers, Indiana Jones (1 & 3), Serenity, Gladiator
If we're talking movies seen recently: Inception, the Millenium films (Noomi Rapace kicks all kinds of ass), Shelter, Fish Tank
Also, I really should dislike this movie as it is all kinds of dumb; I loved the A-Team movie.

Oh! The original Batman film with Adam West and the Bat Shark Repellant! How did I forget?

However, while we're on the subject, you may feel free to shoot me, therogue, for daring to forget Serenity.

This topic is making me realize all of the movies that I should include in a list of favorites that I somehow forgot about.

I know what you mean. See, if I sit next to my DVDs, I could do this list... but it would be extensive.

Ack! I myself belong to the group for forgetting LoTR because that one has a high ranking in my comfort viewing movie list. As has another one I've missed: Dogma!

To me, there is no other Batman movie beyond 1966.
And I'm kicking myself for forgetting one of my new favorites - "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World." I'm practically counting down the days until it's DVD release.

A secondary list---
Friendly Persuasion
Mrs. Miniver
Twelve Angry Men
The Inn of the Sixth Happiness
Keys of the Kingdom
The Quiet Man
Ray
Captain Corelli's Mandolin
The 39 Steps
I could go on and on....Noticing most of these movies are older than even me.

Here we are!
Let's see, what are the best movies I've seen lately? Ehm... Hitchcock's
Spellbound,
La Fée, original Man Who Knew Too Much, Paprika, Ringu, My Neighbor Totoro, To Catch A Thief, Laurence Olivier's Richard III, Burke & Hare, The Odd Couple, Paths Of Glory, Kubrick's The Killing, Kirikou Et La Sorcière,
Panta Rhei and
Zoo and Glas by Bert Haanstra...
Last year I had the unholy idea of making Donald Ducky spoofs of every entry on my 40 Films-list. I've tackled 3 of them now. Need to get going.
