Thanks, Bob. At least with contracts you get sick pay and holiday pay (generally). My situation was a casual, which is even worse - just filling in for someone who was sick. As soon as they got better ... there's the door, mister. Basically they kick you in the pants and then wonder why you don't want to work for them again.
So why did I do it? Like a lot of other people, I had no choice - I need the money to pay bills and things.
I got a new job!

Re: I got a new job!
Thanks, BBP.
Woo-hoo! Got a call from an agent earlier today - he checked out my resume on Seek and thought I'd be ideal for his client. He talked to me on the phone and he's happy to send me across to his client, but I'll also come in and meet him later tonight.
Got off the phone with him about 30 minutes ago, and 10 minutes ago, another client that I applied to directly (about 3 weeks ago) called me up and said they like the sound of me, and want me to come in and see them this afternoon.
So now, instead of one interview in the late afternoon, I have:
- One interview in the early afternoon (with client)
- One interview in the late afternoon (with client)
- One interview in the early evening (with agent)
Plus a rehearsal in the evening.
I'm not going to have any trouble falling asleep tonight ........... exhaustion! But hopefully all that legwork leads somewhere ...
