No, not even close. The game I'm thinking of isn't finished yet, but still has a lot of players.

HINT: This game allows players to walk around and interact with their ships from the inside. Some ships can even accommodate multiple people who can take different stations and arm turrets.

Yep, it's Star Citizen, a game that probably won't ever be finished and is already too complex for its own good. Still seems neat, though.

I have a feeling the hint I gave about being able to walk around inside ships and have multiple real people as crew gave it away.

Okay, Tawmis, it's your turn!

The hint was how expensive it was, actually.

Because I was about to guess "Eve Online" till I saw there was another page - where you responded to Rath. :)

With that I was able to google "expensive space game mmo" - and that limited the results.

Came across "Star Citizen" - saw it was a kickstarter and I was like, "I bet it's this."

Checked.

Showed it started in 2017 and hasn't been released yet.

I saw this in google -

"Over eight years after its initial crowdfunding effort began, Star Citizen is still without a release date, although parts of the game have been released in early access form. Squadron 42, the single-player portion of the game, is still in development but does not have a release date."

So I was like, "That's got to be it."

Read up about how people are already paying big bucks for ships and stuff.

This will be easy.

I remember a console game - but it was an arcade game first - where you could pick Dinosaurs and apes and stuff - and fight one another.

Yes, it would be!

I picked that one because I was going through my console games (XBOX, X360, PS1, PS2, Wii, etc) - and found Midway Arcade Treasures 2 which I'd forgotten I had! And when I checked it had PRIMAL RAGE on it. So I quickly hooked up my XBOX and replayed PRIMAL RAGE (and quickly recalled I'd forgotten all the moves!)

So it was literally fresh on my mind today.

I remember a console game that was local co-op that involved humans fighting aliens and was known for its extremely high level of difficulty.

Nope. The game I'm thinking of is is much older and almost universally associated with a very specific console.

NOTE: I think I found a problem with saying "computer game" or "console game" and that's illustrated with Aliens: Fireteam Elite. I would've never associated that game with consoles because the only place I've seen it is on Steam and for the PC. So if that had been the game I was thinking of, I'd have said "I'm thinking of a computer game..." while someone might think of A:FT as a console game if they bought it on an XBox or PlayStation.

Maybe we need to also state if the game we're thinking of is on multiple platforms, so using A:FT as an example, we'd say "I'm thinking of a computer/console game..." or something like that.

Is it "Primal Rage"? Or is it "Rampage"? ;) In Rampage, you can also play a dinosaur or ape, and fight each other. (Though doing so is really stoopid). :P

Rath... I already solved that one (it was Primal Rage) a while ago, and subsequently described a new game, so somehow you missed a good five posts.

Well, I think it's fair - like in your case (where someone went with a guess), where sometimes we don't know if it's been released on console (or arcade also/first).

And in such cases, we do exactly what you did - where you say that's not it, and give a clue. I think that's half the fun of this. Really captures the original idea for which this game thread is based off of.

Because if you make your clues TOO specific, a quick google is going to reveal what it probably is very quickly (if it's not an easy one like "E.T." or "Primal Rage") :D

Console specific.

Oh. There's two I have in mind. I'll go for the one immediately in mind and one of my favorite co-op humans vs aliens game....

Would this be GEARS OF WAR 1?

True. So sure, let's just leave it as it is. :)

Nope. This game is much older than GoW1. I'm sure this hint will give it away, but the game I'm thinking of was released in the 1980s.
