Guards will actually notice things out of place or if lights were left on (or turned off) and check things out thoroughly, as opposed to most guards in stealth games that are so dumb they deserve to be shot.

Also, I know that WC3 isn't exactly an RPG (more like an RTS, with RPG elements).
