Hi
I played this a lot when it was released (just the demo, I'm afraid!), but recently bought the CD of the full game and wanted to share my experiences of getting it to play on a modern PC for those interested.
The game was designed to run on Windows 95, but will run on Windows 98 as long as you limit the virtual memory to 512Mb. For more recent operating systems, download and install Virtual PC from Microsoft. Install either Windows 95 or 98 using an ISO image, then install Earth Siege 2, again using an ISO image. Don't forget to change the virtual memory to 512Mb and the screen to 256 colours.
I use a ViewSonic VOT125 mini-PC for all my older games and this has a 1.6Mhz processor, 1Gb RAM and a 160Gb hard drive. I have XP Home installed. The game runs perfectly on that machine under Windows 98 through Virtual PC. Here are a couple of useful links:

That's it!

One more thing: You will need to mount the ISO image as a CD drive in Virtual PC as EarthSiege 2 requires the CD to be in the drive in order to load.

Re: Earth Siege 2
Thanks for the info, but couldn't you just use DOSBox?

Re: Earth Siege 2
It doesn't work as far as I know. A guy on this forum said he had to install using Virtual PC:

While the subject of abandonware here is not forbidden, please no direct links to abandonware sites.
Virtual PC can use your physical CD drive, so the image is probably not necessary. This is a game that I have not tried on modern PCs, so I don't know if you can get it to run without a virtual machine. Normally, I consider having to resort to a VM as a last resort, but for some games it is the only way. Unfortunately, this is a Windows only game, so no DOSBox.
