I am going to chalk this up as probably the most difficult LSL game in the series. By far.
First, only because I had played it before and it tickled my memory...
I couldn't remember where to get wood - No! Not that kind of wood - I mean the kind to carve! For the life of me I couldn't remember where to get it. And when I finally did - it was sheer luck and random typing that I found it (or got the clue that I was on the right screen). But then the whole thing with sharpening the knife. Seriously. What the heck? Although I apparently did it before when I had played it before - for the life of me I couldn't remember off hand where this was done till I walked by the screen six or seven times and went, "ZOMG! It's here!" But there's no indication that you'd ever do this at this screen! It's not like if you looked at the stairsit said, "Hey this would be good for sharpening dull knives!"
There's other things in the game, this far, that have proven difficult and a challenge... but I can't imagine, when I first played this, I did so without getting hints or a hint book! There's just no way! Some of these puzzles are pretty obscure!

Re: LSL3 Difficulty!
It's that whole manual-based gaming, this is the first, and only, time I've played a game of that nature. LSL6 I got through smoothly except for the batteries, and in LSL3 I kept getting the message "You seem to be having difficulties getting started, so here's what you do in an adventure game..." Embarrassing and annoying, so I caved in to walkthroughs shortly enough. No need to torture yourself.
