Thanks,Collector

No dice. I've also checked OLDGAMES, Amazon and went through Google many times.
On E-BAY , everyone selling the game has had no manual.

Before I knew better I d/l'd the game w/o the manual. It is impossible to get the most out of the game without it.

Do you know if the CD version happens to contain a PDF or other file with the ALL the manual info in it?

You could buy a legitimate copy from eBay and get the manual with box and extras. Currently there is one with a Buy it Now option for $3.50. It is just the CD with case, but I can't remember if the manual is a jewel case insert or separate.

Try searching some abandonware sites. Lots of those have game manuals, presumably to bypass copy protection. It's worth a shot.

Thanks to you both, Collector and DeadPoolX

I had asked that seller ($3.50) and s/he had no manual. Neither did all else on e-bay thus far. I'll keep checking e-bay and Amazon...

...and abandonware sites. Actually, I foolishly d/l'd from one of those which stated a manual was included. They seem to only have the FPSDOC file which is merely an addendum. (caveat emptor.)...

...but I'll keep searching.

(I have a hunch these manuals have been victims of overzealous spring cleaning.)

All suggestions welcome.

Thanks again.

I decided to take a look and couldn't find a manual for Pro 95. I could find places to download the actual game (which I didn't do), but no manual.

I'm almost tempted to actually download some of the Pro 95 games and see if there's a manual doc tucked in the ZIP file. Unfortunately, there aren't very many sources I'd trust -- I know of two, but that's about it.

I've had 3 folders with FPS Pro 95. I think I had d/l'd three times trying to find the hidden manual in some file. I think the sites were 'Classic PC Games', 'Just Adventure', 'DJ Old Games', 'Game Downloads', and a few others. I do not remember the 3 where I got this game. I had previously d/l'd the Tom Landry Strategy Football game from one of these and it , too, had no manual.I eventually got a copy of that game on e-bay, with manual and floppy.
Over the years I figured on not trusting these sites, but if you know of a few good ones I'll try them.

Thanks for lookin'.

Just so that you know, this site does not support abandonware. It is not forbidden to discuss it, but please do not link to or openly ask for addresses to such sites.

I see. Sorry about that.

I've since read up on the subject and can understand your concern. I shoulda known. I've suspected the sites to be run by unsavory types (knaves be they).

Well, as I said, it is not forbidden to discuss it, just don't link to it. There are legal issues and this site has gained enough of a presence for such things to be noticed. Even Microsoft thinks that this is Sierra's official site.

Hmm...now there is another ebay offering wherein the seller says the "manual is in the CD" (alas, but for the 97 version). Two previous sellers have said "no".
I'm thinking of DeadPoolX's suggestion. While I do not have such a file (manual) in any of my 3 Pro 95 folders, mine did not come from CDs.

Does anyone think it likely?...highly likely?...that a PDF manual would be in the CD?

Now there is a Pro 95 CD for auction (just the CD). On the one hand it may be "worth a shot."...

...on the other, another...a fourth version of the game sans manual... would be mocking!

To buy or not to buy...

Thanks, Collector. It's good to know this, finally. In fact, a new ebay seller with just CD informed me that he checked and found none.

I have both the CD-ROM version of this game and the boxed floppy copy (with a manual, hooray!). The manual isn't in any of the CD-ROMs, so don't bother. Copy protection: if you install the 1.03 patch you can't play the game without answering a question from the manual correctly. The original 1.0 version actually doesn't have copy protection, so it looks like Dynamix/Sierra forgot to add it. I guess the CD is supposed to be in a bigger box with a manual rather than be sold alone as the jewel case. I found it in a thrift store with the jewel case so I got a nasty surprise after I downloaded and installed the patch. :-)

The manual is very much worth it as aspects of the game makes much more sense, copy protection aside.
