Pepper's Adventures help?

Post by resin »

I got the game from mark siebert's site. Unzipped the 5 disks and installed the normal way- sciwv didn't run.. then attempted to install with the DOSBox installer on this site, but it keeps telling me to install the files from the disks into the same directory as the installer.. I tried running the installer in a folder with the 5 subfolders (disk1 - disk5) in it.. then tried running the installer in a folder with all the files from each of the subfolders together in one main folder.. neither way worked, installer still tells me the same thing.. so what exactly do i need to do?

Create a temp folder. Inside that create folders named 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, not disk1, disk2, etc. Copy the files from each disk into each of those folders. Place the installer in the main temp folder and run it.

The installer was designed for the original floppy disks. Mark Seibert may have been the Producer of the game, but does not own the rights to distribute it. The policy here is to not support abandonware not just because of the legal issues, but mostly because of too many unknown variables. That said, if he is distributing the game with the same layout as the floppies, follow the instructions for the installer exactly. beyond that, I cannot give any more help than this for such a download.
