Leisure Suit Larry (v1.00) (int.2.440) (Disk 1)

Post by comradesean »

Have a complete box, but missing disk 1. If possible at all, I would love a KryoFlux Stream to put alongside my dump of Disk 2.

That is an earlier one than I have. Mine is interp 2.917. Instead of the pink label it has the standard Sierra with the Half Dome picture.

This is something that I would like to get started. I would love to get a number of collectors together to start gathering a digital archive of Stream and images of the Sierra disks. It could not be generally available publicly for obvious reasons, but it could be a resource for replacements for those with corrupted disks. I could help guide anyone in setting up a box with a KryoFlux and drives for those that would like to contribute. It could help with the digital preservation of Sierra.

I can't recall what version of LSL1 I have - but will check when I am able (sometime this week).

Would love to be a part of this. I'm personally focusing on more than just Sierra titles, but my main goal has been preservation of unmodified, original releases. I've had a few misses which still turned out good dumps, though. I'll throw together a quick excel sheet of what I've got later tonight/tomorrow and toss it your way.

So it looks like I have LSL1 (v1.00)... However, the USB disk drive I used, I have since returned to my friend...

If you know what files are on Disk 1, I can see about getting those to you?

He needs it to be interpreter 2.440. He also wants in a KryoFlux stream, not raw files. Which reminds me, when are you going to get your KryoFlux, Tawm? I can help you put it together.

I might be wrong, but i think 6/1/87 is interpreter 2.440?

I have an archive file here from some group back in the day that was gutted to just the bare essentials and runs this version.

This is the best I could recreate from the files I had. Missing everything used in installation and I'm not sure if LL.COM is cracked or not.

Of course LL.COM would be named SIERRA.COM on the disk. I didn't compare the MD5s as a number of the file sizes are different.

By the way, a member here wrote an updated Win32 version of the old AGI decryption tool from Brian Provinciano. It does not alter any of the files, it just reads the AGI file and creates an AGI.EXE to start the game, thus bypassing the CPC protection.

I love the one you have - I'd just need some extra money to put something like that together. :)

You could put it together piecemeal, even if you have to sit on parts while waiting to get the rest of it. The expensive part is the KryoFlux. Right now the exchange rate is fairly low. You only need the Personal Edition Basic.

http://webstore.kryoflux.com/catalog/pr ... ucts_id=28

You can scrounge around in thrift stores for drives. Save the case for last.

Just want to add an update for anyone else browsing these forums that I've completed my set and have both 5.25'' and the 3.5'' disk available now.

I doubt I have anything to add here, except I would love to be party to this effort also. I don't even know how to find some of these version details that y'all are looking for. But I can try!
