Happy New Year everybody!
NYE with my boyfriend and his family was amazing, we watched fireworks on the roof!
Even made a good fireworks photo by accident!
NY was less spectacular but more traditional with me being sick with food poisoning.

I don't drink... 
We have a traditional NYE bake, oliebollen, which is deep-fried dough. My father typically makes a huge batch although there's only three of us (and this year two, since I was away - he made around 75 oliebollen in four varieties).
They're greasy, and when they're hot they're great. When they cool down though, the grease sinks to the bottom of the oliebollen, and my stomach is no good with them.

Yikes, BBP. No wonder about the oliebollen... I'm the same with cold greasy food, it just makes me feel like my stomach's tied up in knots. No good.
As for alcohol, I learned long ago what my limit was (none without food, and not much with food). So I rarely had more than one or two social drinks, and rarely had to suffer through a hangover. (The one or two that I did have were enough, thanks!)
Also, when I became a first-year student in university I could see (and smell) the effects of the morning after. The first week of university was known as "O-week" (or "orientation week"), which was supposed to be about acclimitising new students to life on campus. Instead, it became an excuse for all the new kids to get as drunk as they could on cheap beer and play drinking games.
The morning after, as I strolled to class, I could see 18-year-old kids clutching their stomachs and heads, or puking on the ground, walls or grass. (Ewww). No thanks!
