That is pretty awesome... and pretty random. But then it is Deadpool. Just the same that is a pretty obscure reference. Police Quest seems to have the least notoriety of all the Sierra Quest titles. But "unforgiving difficulty"?

Yeah, I can think of much more difficult Sierra games. Codename: Iceman, anyone?

They're probably equating rigorous police procedure and not being able to stray an inch with unforgiving.

^ This is exactly what I think they mean.

I was just explaining to a co-worker, that if you don't read someone their rights when you arrest them, it comes back in court... same if you don't frisk them before putting them in the back of your police car... Police Quest has things like that, that can make the game very brutal if you're not following the correct Police procedure presented in the game...

Also, in PQ1, you have to inspect your car each time before you drive it. Failure to do so is lethal. I suspect that that death early in the game affects how people view the game.

I'm kind of pleased that they took the road less traveled and went for Police Quest over Dark Souls, given their target audience.

It is a nice homage.

Maybe in a future issue they could have him pilot a submarine: "And I thought this was hard in Codename: Iceman!"

I have to give them credit for that, given that PC games have long played second string to consoles. Far more people had a Nintendo at the time than a PC. I'm sure there was an uptick in google searches for "Police Quest" when this came out.
