Re: LB2 Interview with Bruce Balfour, Josh Mandel and Leslie Wilson

I really like OneShortEye's videos. The speedrun videos are great. Speedrunners discover these odd little glitches they can exploit and pretty much reverse engineer the game. It's great to see videos like this get that many views. I skimmed through this one. At around 1:04:47, he mentions some narr...

Re: LB2 Interview with Bruce Balfour, Josh Mandel and Leslie Wilson

I haven’t seen this posted here yet and this thread seems appropriate. This impressive (and lengthy) video takes a deep dive into the game. It has over a million views. LB2 really seems to have developed more of a cult following than many other Sierra games. https://youtu.be/nSODB1CRez0?si=P2dh_cKu_...

Tawmis wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 11:22 am Is the floppy version different than the CD version?

Because IMDB has credits - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0214857/?ref_=fn_t_2
The floppy version only has digitized speech during the intro sequence. The professional CD cast did not record the lines for that release.

KQ6 Floppy Intro Voices

Does anyone know who voiced Alexander, Valanice and Cassima in the floppy KQ6 intro? I don’t recall them being credited anywhere. They sound like staff members rather than professional actors.

Re: KQ7 - Brand New Patch Files for Art Fixes

For SCI32 use FotoSCIhop. If your change does not involve the location of something that needs to be interacted with it most likely will not involve any changes to the scripting. SCI/AGI I've tampered with the images (both character and backgrounds). However, for FotoSCIhop and SCI32 (which I assum...

Re: What are you playing now?

For the past few months, I've been making my way through "Saints Row the Third" remastered. Wow, what a trippy ride that is! Like GTA on steroids.

I've had so much fun just mowing down pedestrians and outrunning the cops that I've taken my time getting to many of the actual missions.

This is all very cool. Thank you for your effort. My pleasure :) http://larrylaffer.net/non-lsl-games/kings-quest-vii-patch-by-semi-happy-partygoer Thank you for saving it. Looks great. I’ve begun work on even more. Spent a few hours today cleaning up Valanice’s walking sprite, which I discovered w...

https://drive.google.com/file/d/119TXqR3wTUbjYJYVkhq4_HdUBvs2aAjb/view?usp=drive_link UPDATE: For the past few years, I have been creating new patches for KQ7, correcting a number of minor art issues and oversights which were somehow missed by Sierra (probably due to tight deadlines). The following ...

Re: The good and the bad - Laura Bow edition!

Colonel: Good: Atmosphere. Talk about creepy, yet also beautifully drawn. I also love the growing tension as bodies mount. The place goes from lively and populated to practically deserted in mere hours. Bad: Not bad, per se, but the way Laura has no impact on the plot until the “who to shoot” choice...

Re: Laura Bow and the Mechanical Codex

It was also interesting to read that Microsoft wants to do new things with other Sierra properties.

“Codename: ICEMAN” in UnReal Engine! Yaaay!

Re: Laura Bow and the Mechanical Codex

Very encouraging news. And that’s great Ken and Roberta have endorsed the project and were able to vouch for it to those in charge.

Re: Laura Bow and the Mechanical Codex

To be fair, Microsoft just got everything... They're probably still settling things on their end. Acquisitions usually result in consulting everything into various teams, and laying off the excess. And we're only getting the side of the story from the folks doing the game. True. They’d only know wh...

Re: Which King's Quest II cover do you prefer?

Hmm. In some ways I think the grey border better suits the artwork, but I like the textured beige in that it ties in the theme for the other early games. A nice motif for the first four entries. Hah, I always saw it as gold rather than beige, which I thought fitting for a KING's quest. :D You’re ri...

Re: Laura Bow and the Mechanical Codex

That’s disappointing news. It sounds like Microsoft is a lot more amenable than Activision. Why they’re being so pig-headed I cannot fathom. Hence why I’ll never be a “suit”.
