Any chance the old forum is going to be restored? This works fine for us, but I'd hate to see people turned away by the dead link to the old forum.

I know on the Sierra Help Facebook page, someone was mentioning the 404 (they were wanting to upload something), but Collector directed them to a better location to do what they wanted (wasn't specific to engaging on the forum). I am not sure where Collector's free time is (it doesn't seem to be much of it), so I don't know how much effort he's putting there.

I would say, a good idea, at the very least - is to put a "place holder" at the current forum URL, and say, "If you need to post on the Sierra Help forum, please email EMAIL_ADDRESS@whatever.com" - so that those people could at least be vetted as legit or not. And we could even create some gmail account for that - in case it falls into spammer grasp.

And on the flip side, it wasn't like the forum saw too much new (users) for traffic, as most people have resorted to the social media (Facebook) side of it (unfortunately).

Just wondering: was the forum down earlier? I know that I tried to log in this morning (i.e. at 9:25am, about 11 hours ago local time), and I got an error 403 (Forbidden - you do not have permission, etc. etc.)

Now, the forum works fine ... obviously, or I couldn't post here. :)

Any idea what happened?

I've not seen any issues today, and lack the brain power to tell your time zone to mine. :D

But I saw no issue last night or this morning. Was on and off the forum all day today.

I mean, I was working all day. Duh. How would I know? ahem...

Sigh. The same thing happened again this morning (about 8am my time), but now that it's 6pm, the forum works fine. (6pm for me is 1am, Los Angeles time; conversely, 8am for me would be 3pm, Los Angeles time). :)

So ... the forum refuses to work when I should be at work. But it works for me after I finish work.

Good to know! ;)
