Space Quest ad in King's Quest II.

In Space No One Can Hear You Clean, er, Scream. But if you post in this forum about Space Quest - someone's sure to hear you. I think. Try it, anyway!

Space Quest ad in King's Quest II.

Post by Tawmis »

Heh, took the "Easter Egg" from King's Quest II - and did a little voice over to make it an "ad."

Thank you. Was bored, after editing my King's Quest II replay... and I thought, "Oh, splice out the Space Quest 1 Easter Egg and do the voice, like it was an ad."

So I did. :D

Boredom is a great fear of mine. :D

Nice. :D Tiny nitpick: there's a big slice of time between the space where you say "Visit strange planets..." and the space where Roger visits the bar, where nothing happens (sound-wise).

Maybe that can be fixed? :) Maybe this can help bridge the gap! :D

Yeah, I was just reading as it appeared. So blame the folks who programmed it to have a huge gap. :D

That's fair. Just thinking: if you're bored, do you have video editing software? If so, is it possible to reduce the time spent by Roger just walking across the desert? :)

I'm not sure how possible that is. If it's not, no problem. :)

Yeah video editing software is how I make all the Let's Play Sierra Games videos, and such. :D

It would be easy to reduce the time Roger walks - however, I already deleted the files to clear up space on my machine (as I started playing another game, and the video capture is pretty large in file size) :D

I hadn't emptied my recycle bin - so I was able to recover the file.

Now the hard part was the Space Quest music was already recorded - so I had to time the splice so it would be as smooth as possible, and I think I managed to do so...

Much better! :D

A tiny thought: the logo of your channel pictures you shrugging, as if to say "What next?"

I've noticed before that you photoshop this logo to include bits from the game (e.g. Graham's hat on your head for KQ games, etc.) Well ... would it be possible for you to photoshop yourself in a Sarien helmet (or Darth Vader's helmet)? Just to use as a promo image for this video. :D

Like I said, just a thought! :)

The Sarien helmet would be difficult, because there's no high resolution of it. :)

The Darth Vader would be easy, but I feel like people would be like, "But that's Star Wars!"

It'd probably be cooler to use the helmets from the Viper pilots of the original Battlestar Galactica. :D

I feel like that'd be more obscure. :)

That helmet is very cool. *nod* If you want an even cooler helmet, though, you might want to try a kabuto (samurai helmet), or even a Cuman/Kipchak face-mask helmet. Here's what it looks like: https://www.reddit.com/r/Armor/comments ... is_helmet/

It has eye-holes, a tall spike and a chainmail "curtain" to protect your neck, but the most eye-catching part is the moustache and grin etched into the helmet. ;) The face-mask is also hinged, so it can be raised and lowered.

I don't know if you'd want to use it, though, since no-one would see your face! ;) But it offers excellent protection in battle.
