Keapon Laffin is only in QFG2. Spoiler: It's possible that you're thinking of his cousin Yorick, a gnome enchanter whom you meet in the Brigand fortress (he runs the maze).

Yorick was Elsa's jester, and when she was kidnapped, he ran off to look for her.

In QFG2, Keapon says of him: "My cousin Laspo. Ah, Laspo Yorick. I know him, hero." This is a reference to a famous quote from Shakespeare's Hamlet: "Alas, poor Yorick. I knew him, Horatio - a man of infinite jest!"

Shakespeare's Yorick, a man of infinite jest; QFG1's Yorick, a jester. Coincidence? I don't know!
