I'm looking forward to seeing what you think. *thumbs up* I've heard good things about TLJ, but never played it.

I am thinking of taking up Morrowind again, since a lot of people tell me how fantastic it is and how Bethesda peaked when they made it. But I tried Morrowind GOTY when it came out, and a lot of things about it drove me away.

For instance, the realism. Yes, I realise that it adds to the realism when there are no quest markers, and people's directions are more like "Go to the big rock and turn left" etc. And I know that if I don't put a lot of points into my Speed score, for instance, then my character will be slow as crap. But gimme a break.

I got off the ship and got a quest, but had no idea where to go. Everyone in town hated me. And when I tried to leave town on my quest, the rain made things hard to see, and I ran straight into a group of mudcrabs. I tried killing them, but the combat was janky as all hell, and I couldn't run away fast enough because my Speed score was low, so they killed me. I'm not asking for the game to hold my hand, but an RPG game shouldn't humiliate you. :P

Also, NWN1 was out at around the same time, and grabbed my attention for a bunch of different reasons. Sure, the graphics weren't much better (and by today's standards, they're a bit basic), but it did the job. It was just as realistic, but it was also (slightly) easier. The combat was handled better. And when I died, that was fine, and I just restored my g---- what do you mean, I didn't save my game? ;)

So, I am looking forward to Skywind. This team of volunteers are working to bring Morrowind back, but have given it a makeover, Skyrim-style. Take a look at this video! :)

I've joined the Murdoku ranks. Combining the logic puzzle grid with Sudoku opens up a lot of possibilities.

I've no idea when this game ends (just finished Chapter 4 a few weeks ago), and my mind can NOT believe this is an older game. The story. The voice acting. The content. Seems WAY too good to be an older game.

I'm playing "find your missing favourites" after Windows made an update in Edge that threw away all of them just like that - and none of their info on the site works as that only applies to Win 11, not Win 10.

Ugh. I don't use Microsoft Edge (I haven't used any microsoft browsers since Explorer 4.0 or something, way back in the day), but I feel your pain, BBP.

Have you thought of switching browsers? I'm using a browser called Brave, and it's pretty good. :)

Thanks to my bad cold (or maybe laryngitis? I'm not even sure what it is), I'm playing "Try to make it through the day" and failing. Woke up at some ungodly hour (5am? I don't know) to have a drink of water, take a lozenge, and try to get back to sleep. When I got out of bed, I couldn't say anything without pain. After lunch, I collapsed on the sofa and fell asleep for 2-3 hours. Probably another restless night tonight. :(

Being sick sucks. Being sick when you're on your own sucks even more.

haha it's what I did after an hour of playing. Now I use DuckDuckGo. I now use DuckPlayer for Youtube films, clean viewing without ads. I was so distraught having lost all my favourites (where I store knitting patterns and stuff) and when I tried to find some cat video content to soothe me, my ad blocker was gone and I had an ad after like a minute.

I'll check in a week if it was an update that they have undone, to see if I could hypothetically get back my bookmarks, if not it's definitely goodbyesville to Edge.

Except I have to use Edge at work.

Aren't your IE / Edge favorites still found on your main drive (likley C:) under the following directory?

C: \ Users \ [Your User Name] \ Favorites

(I'm still running Windows 10 myself...)

"Wow!" he says, quickly backing up HIS Windows 10 Favorites folder...

Have you tried using one of those undelete / "Recuva"-like programs to see if they could be restored?

https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva

I've used the free version of Recuva a few times for flash drives. It doesn't always work, but even if you can't recover them, you might be able to at least get a [partial] list of the missing Internet Shortcut urls that it finds.

Yay! Glad you have DemonCrawl back, BBP. :)

I haven't been playing games recently, because I've been busy getting better (it turns out I have the flu ... :cry: ... even though the doctor I originally went to see told me I have a cold. Boo! :x All he did was listen to me cough and examine my throat, and told me I had a cold. The next day I was feeling worse, so I went to see a second doctor, and he gave me a proper examination, sent me for a pathology test, and THEN gave me a proper diagnosis. :) I'm not happy to have the flu, but I am happy that the doctor did his job properly).

Anyway, so what am I happy about? I did a map! :D An honest-to-Odin MAP! :D I'm not a surveyor, or a map-maker, or an artist. But I'm writing a story set in Iceland, and I created a MAP of my heroine's voyage through Iceland, with:

1. summaries of what happens in various locations;
2. distances and travel times;
3. arrows pointing to various locations - villages, towns, rivers, mountains, caves. :)

I based it on my own research, getting the results from google maps, so they're pretty accurate -- and -- drumroll ... I did it all in MICROSOFT PAINT. :D

It took me nearly 5 hours, and it's not pretty, but it's functional. And it gave me so many ideas to making the story better! :D

So here's my question: what's next? I can't make this map pretty, I'm not an artist. But does anyone know? If I recruit an artist, or a map-maker ... I know I'd have to pay a commission, and I'm fine with that. But does anyone know how much that might cost? I'm just curious. :) Thanks!
