The "in search for glory" was meant to throw everyone off - but the main line is frontiers ("Space... the final frontier" to elude to Space Quest 5, which is a parody in many regards of Star Trek).
Truth be told, this isn't my story is a clue that he's not the main character.
There are gargoyles clustered about - Droole comes from the Gargoyle Cluster Galaxy. But again, meant to throw off and make it feel like Quest for Glory or King's Quest.
I have no mouth to shout, is a clue that he has no (visible) mouth, but does talk.

The full of iron was made to make it sound like a robot, but the SQ Companion mentions that his body is full of iron and so much so he can make metal rust.
