Are you in Police Quest 4?

(Also known as, as far as I know, SWAT 1, or PQ: Open Season. Which gives it a loophole around the 'No Quest In The Title' restriction) :P

No, not PQ4 or SWAT1.

Police Quest 4 and SWAT 1 are two different games. PQ4 (or Police Quest: Open Season. The numbering is left off with this game) is an adventure game with Det. Carey of the LAPD as the player character. SWAT (which is formally called Police Quest: SWAT) is an FMV SWAT simulator, for lack of a better term.

Ah, rats. That's what I get for rushing, and not checking my work. ;)

Welp, that does it for me, since I don't know the Phantasmagoria or Shivers games. I don't like the horror genre, period. I'm lucky I played the GK games at all. I flinched and closed my eyes when Gabriel died. :(

(I won't even mention the fact that Phantasmagoria 2 was and is banned in Australia. So I couldn't play this game even if I wanted to. Sorry) :|

Anyone ever tell you that you have a defeatist attitude?

NBS was able to figure out games he hadn't played when you were giving clues.

You could still ask generic questions "Is it inside?" "Is it alive?" "Is it an inventory item?"

And it's not like you have to PLAY Phant 2... there's... you know, for example, the Sierra Chest site, which we have repeatedly used for references, that has, oh, you know... screenshots...

Just saying.

Fine, let's give this a try (even though the pictures don't mean anything to me, since I don't know the context).

NBS, are you in pages 1-3 of the screenshots?

Tawm - it's not defeatist, just realistic. :P
