I believe it needs 4 points already in Dual Weapon. Twin Fangs would be the 5th point, if I am not mistaken?

Correct. It means that, between abilities and upgrades, you have to at least four points already spent in that particular tree.

So basically, I'll still have to waste points in talents I don't want just to get to the higher ones, regardless of their order in the tree. The only improvement I see in this system is that you have a little more choice in which talents to take to get to the higher ones than in DA:O. It still seems like a contrived limitation to me.

I agree. It would have been better to ahve the talents only restricted by your current level and not by prerequisite points spent in the tree. It's an unnecessary hassle.

They've made it more like World of Warcraft, basically.

Anyone else annoyed that you can't use the keyboard arrow keys to move the sliders during face creation? It's especially annoying because I like to write down the numbers or key-presses for my face in case I want to use it for a different character or start over for whatever reason, and that's impossible to do now that I have to use the mouse. I wish all Bioware games generated a code for your face like Mass Effect 2 did. Is there a mod that adds number values to the slider like I had for Oblivion?

Yeah, the sliders are VERY annoying. You should be able to use the keyboard or scroll wheel to move through them. They probably didn't implement that (if they were going to at all) because the game was rushed.

I guess the closest thing you could do is try to do is write down how many times you need to move a slider and then redo it later. Since you'll have to use the mouse, it'll be very difficult to get an accurate count, but I suppose it's better than nothing.

I might just use the default face. I messed around the character creator in the demo (you had to apply a couple of patches to do that) and no matter what I did, the male character consistently looked like an idiot.

My Origins character turned out pretty awesome. I try to make my characters look like me in games because I guess I'm narcissistic. And I usually reuse the same face or start over a lot at first. So I always write down the key-presses. It's going to be impossible now unless someone makes a mod to show number values like I had with Oblivion.

I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to be a rogue or mage. The changes to warrior has made me uninterested in it.

Do you get extra XP for making a kill like in Origins? It doesn't seem like it, but just making sure. I didn't even see a page that shows number of kills and hit percentage and most powerful foe slain, which is annoying. I liked that kind of stuff.

You could make screenshots of the various sub-sets of slides.

What I find funny is that your family changes, if you pick certain presets. I was messing around with the character creator today to get an idea of what I wanted my character to look like, but the preset I started with made my family totally ridiculous! My character looks adopted!

I'll have to see if I can make a similar character with a different preset.

Heh. Good luck. I made my character redhead with tattoos... and no one in my family looks like him.

So - speaking of injuries - what's with getting injuries in DA2 even if you don't fall in combat? This has repeatedly happened...

Yeah, I noticed that too, especially when you fall on a trap or when you receive a mighty blow. However, I didn't find any mention of this new mechanic in the manual and even the Wiki has no explanation of what exactly triggers the injury.

DPX, is the patch out?

As far as I can tell, there's a beta patch, but that's it. I don't want to install that because beta patches are often finicky and BioWare has said "use at your own risk."

I'll wait for a real patch, which hopefully comes out soon. Maybe they'll have fixed more problems by then.
