Re: Three Clues - Who Am I?
Earth also doesn't have magic, and unicorns, and dragons like Daventry does.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 6:19 am As for Earth-like planets ... sigh ... the planet where you land in SQ2 is close, but it's not earth-like. No place on earth has a plant that can eat full-grown people.
Besides, all planets in SQ games feature recognizably sci-fi elements, all of which are absent from earth. So, sorry, but Space Quest isn't set on earth or reasonable earth-facsimile.![]()
So how is a Dragon located on Daventry make it Earth-like, but a planet similar to Earth that has a man-eating plant, isn't? (Since, that's more believable as Earth does have plants that eat meat - such as the Venus Fly Trap).
So I'd argue Daventry is LESS Earth "facsimile" than say the planet in Space Quest that has the man-eating plant.

Re: Three Clues - Who Am I?
Heh. Earth might not have magic, unicorns and dragons -- not literally -- but we have them in our various mythologies.
I'd love to see one culture that doesn't have at least one story about dragons. (All right, the ancient Egyptians. Fine).
OTOH, I don't think any culture has ever had any myth about a man-eating plant. Only movies and plays, like The Little Shop of Horrors, have that.

Re: Three Clues - Who Am I?
That narrows it down. Are you in the Quest for Glory series?
('cos if not, it must be King's Quest!)
==================
By the way: I was wrong about Egyptian mythology not having dragons. I admit it.
Behold ... Apep!
All right, he doesn't breathe fire or fly, or any of that jazz. But he's famous enough to have made it into Forgotten Realms (here's his FR Article.) That's gotta count for something. Right?

Since there's more than five - are you in an odd numbered game?

You'd be sorta wrong - there is one about a man eating tree in Africa.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 4:31 pm OTOH, I don't think any culture has ever had any myth about a man-eating plant. Only movies and plays, like The Little Shop of Horrors, have that.![]()

Are you in a game greater than 4?
(If yes, then 5 - if no, then either 1 or 3)

*looks at thread; wipes eyes; looks again*
Oh, boy. Once again, the forum deleted my question.
It was: "Are you a human or humanoid?"
So, let me ask again: Are you a human or humanoid? (The game itself is pretty obvious).
(BTW, Tawm: it couldn't be QfG1, because QfG1 was made in 1988, and NBS's game was made in the 90s.
Unless, of course, NBS REALLY means the VGA remake)

VGA is what I was thinking (for the reason for the question).Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 12:42 am *looks at thread; wipes eyes; looks again*
