Ah, I remember Zeliard! :D Wasn't it a kind of RPG-platformer mix, with shops and things, and the object was to collect crystals and use them to save the princess?

(Or something like that?) ;)

Correct - that's what I remember. I've never beaten this game. Played way back in the day, however. Just don't think I ever got far.
