Re: Audio problems running The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain in DOS

Hmm...interesting. That solution seems to have almost solved my problem. I haven't had the sound fail on me yet, but for some reason, the opening theme doesn't play when I start the game (the Sierra jingle plays just fine, but not the main theme on the credits screen). I'll keep experimenting to see...

Audio problems running The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain in DOSBox

Hello, I'm running Windows 7 64-bit now, but I still managed to get The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain working in a copy of Windows 3.11 running inside DOSBox. Unfortunately, I'm having some problems with the game's audio. Sometimes it works just fine (albeit a tad choppy, even if I'm using a CD image inste...

Re: Dragonsphere.

Sierra had a lot of folks trying to mimic their success. The Les Manley series seems to be a copy of Leisure Suit Larry, though, without the getting laid part. Yes -- I've heard of Les Manley as well as Altered Destiny, and I agree about AD being a very interesting game, even if its narration did h...

Re: Dragonsphere.

I played the non-talkie version of this game a while back. Even though it does initially seem like Microprose was mimicking the KQ series with this game (much like how Rex Nebular and the Cosmic Gender Bender was mimicking the SQ series), they really spent a lot of time developing a unique, yet not ...

Re: New hidden (?) KQ6 discovery

(Darn...I wanted to add some stuff to my last post, but I can't find the edit button. The quote button is missing as well. Am I just using a buggy theme for these forums? [EDIT: Apparently I was. The prosilver theme has issues.]) And while you're at it, have a look at this thread, found some cool st...

Re: New hidden (?) KQ6 discovery

Wow. That Easter Egg is almost as hidden as the Discworld ones! Nice work, OmerMor! (Now to edit that animation's entry on its SRF page...)

New hidden (?) KQ6 discovery

I should really get back in the habit of posting my Sierra's Resource Files findings here... Anyway, I was digging through KQ6's files, and I discovered this... interesting animation of Beauty's stepmother: http://akril15.com/sr/View257-0.gif I think the only reason this animation eluded me is becau...

Space Quest: The Time Machination

Hi everyone, I know it's been quite a while since I posted here, but I've still been busy with some projects that have some connection to Sierra. One of these projects is this piece of fan fiction which I spent nearly two years working on. I've posted it elsewhere, but I completely forgot about thes...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

I swear, there are no thrist stores here in San Diego that EVER have Sierra games... I am always so envious in this thread, when I read about you guys who find this cool stuff in Thrift stores. :) I'm actually kind of surprised to hear that. I'd think that a city with a population as large as San D...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

I was taking one of my usual strolls through a local thrift store today and found this in the kitchen appliances section. inca9-11-13.jpg I have never seen a Coktel Vision game on a thrift store shelf, then today, BAM -- Inca I&II Collector's Edition, shrink-wrapped, $4.99...right next to a larg...

Re: Who wants a script?

On one topic here I noticed some people were wondering if Gertie's late husband was in fact called Jacques. It's Celie who tells you this in a later chapter; then again, it could be possible that she's not accessible at the time when it's supposed to happen. Looks like that mystery's finally solved...

Re: Kyrandia.

I first played the games about six years ago starting with the first, and I was pretty impressed with the animation and graphics. The colors were so rich and vibrant and the backgrounds were amazingly detailed as well. The animations were also remarkable. As for the puzzles, they definitely were... ...
