Re: Stereotypes in Movies and TV Shows

Yet we celebrate the victory of someone less trained over those who've obtained their goal through life-study. In all honesty, I think most people would be pissed off if someone appeared out of nowhere, with far less training than them, and was cheered on for defeating them. That is a very old stor...

Re: Things That Annoy You!

You know who really piss me off? People who insist on playing the victim. Don't get me wrong -- many groups of people have been victimized over the years, but in most cases, life is better today. My specific issue is with some African Americans. The problem here is that there's a sub-culture of fai...

Re: Happy New Year!

Ah, ok. I've never bought fireworks, so I'm not sure how expensive fireworks are individually or for one household. Glad you had fun. ;)

Re: Happy New Year!

Fireworks are cheap? *shrug*

Here in Australia, my home town of Melbourne spent $2.34 million on the fireworks display; Sydney outspent us, going to $2.41 million. Yet the world is supposedly suffering one of its direst financial crises since 1929. *shrug* Go figure...

Re: Happy New Year!

Happy 7D9, 3731, 11111011001, or MMIX! Hmm. New Years' Eve was very peaceful here in Australia. I didn't really feel like going out, particularly as I can see the fireworks from the back window of my apartment. So I just stayed home and invited some friends over for a nice relaxed dinner, after whic...

This reminds me of the pants screenshots. Anyone remember those?
I don't think I ever saw them. :-( But I wrote a few pants top ten lists to make up for it... *evil, mischievous grin* ;-)

*hands Almirena a 3-mile long, 2-mile wide and 750 acre deep cup of coffee* It's the biggest cup of coffee in the world! I hope this tides you over and that you don't get too exhausted. *smile of encouragement* Seeing as I'm not Christian, I'm planning to do absolutely nothing for Christmas, except ...

YAY!!! *is excited*

*drags in his soapbox* I'm as excited as a very excited person who has a very exciting reason to be excited! :-) I just did my third Handel's Messiah concert in the past three years, and this time it was done with Opera Victoria, accompanied by the Victorian Orchestra. It was part of their Sing Your...

Re: Weird Dreams

The strangest thing about my dreams, I think, is that I just don't have any - or rather, I can never remember them. *shrugs* I try and try, but... just about the only dream I can remember is a nightmare I have from time to time, in which I'm driving my car and am rammed off the road by some hoon in ...

I wasn't sure if to say anything about this, but...

...I just had to. *G* Specifically, the description of this forum as the place to go if this game is being a ROYAL pain... gods, that's such a horrible and yet irresistible pun. *grin* Other horrible puns that could apply to Sierra games are "you can finish this game at your LEISURE" (for ...

Re: Crazy Christmas Shoppers (warning - rant ahead!)

Sigh. Alas, that a few nutty would-be shoppers ruin it for everyone, just as a few nutty football hooligans ruin it for the vast majority of football fans. :( I like football (or "soccer" as the Americans/Australians call it), but I certainly don't go around painting my face with club colo...

Hmmmm... not sure, but if it helps, CRPG can stand for computer (or console!) role-playing game, or for the Canadian Ranger Patrol Groups. (Sorry about the ubiquitous wiki link - I was just in a hurry). ;)

Re: Sierramultimedia

I beg your pardon, Sierramultimedia. I'm sorry; I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. Alas, I have no access to broadband at the moment, so I'm not in a position to view anything on YouTube. I could only see the many posts everywhere, which is why I assumed it may have been spam. Please accept my ...
