Re: Optical illusions.
None of those worked for me. I think my glasses tend to eliminate the effects of optical illusions. I'm sure it's my prescription (which is incredibly high) more than anything.

I love the 'tessellated tiles'. That reminds me of the 'tumbling elves?' that Escher did...

Okay, I can get the staring ones... but what about the pencils?DeadPoolX wrote:None of those worked for me. I think my glasses tend to eliminate the effects of optical illusions. I'm sure it's my prescription (which is incredibly high) more than anything.
Count the tips of the pencil, then count the erasers.

That is the first one that got me started on Escher. I drew variations on this over and over...Collector wrote:That is just a variation of this old one:Tawmis wrote:Okay, I can get the staring ones... but what about the pencils?

That one is great. I even found myself questioning if it was a fake, but was able to get the photo to switch back to black-and-white and again to 'full' color. Nice.BBP wrote:I'll be very old before I tire of this optical illusion:

Re: Optical illusions.
Actually, that's a hoarding used to cover the construction site below it. I've seen it when I visited Paris four years ago so I guess it's pretty safe to believe that it is gone now and that the real palce can be seen again
