A friend sent me this article...

Post by Tawmis »

... and at first I couldn't figure out why.

http://yahoo.match.com/y/article.aspx?a ... rID=709242

Then I read this:

“Earrings are OK, so long as they aren’t dangly. Specifically, the boy-band style hoop earrings are atrocious. I went out with a guy who wore them, and it was like staring across the table at a pirate.”
– Caitlin

The jury says: SPLIT DECISION! Remember, guys, you don’t want your jewelry to outshine your date’s. Keep your studs understated, and they’ll look cool. But wear earrings that are big and showy, and she’ll be asking, “Hey, where’s your parrot?”

What I really really hate...men who wear their baseball caps on backwards...what are they 12?
And another thing...wearing them inside someone's house...it's rude and disrespectful.

The thing I hate about some guys is when they wear their pants so loose, the pants almost fall off them (or worse, you can see their underpants or butt crack). What are you, wannabe rappers? Wannabe plumbers? Do the world a favour and get yourself a belt. :P

Well Rath, in case you are not a fan of, what us Dutchmen call "workman's cleavage", you can carry a spritzer with you. I love to use that in combination with vinegar.

There were times in college I'd wear a baseball cap. Sometimes I'd wake up and my hair will resemble Albert Einstein's, so wearing a baseball cap was an easy fix. I never wore it backwards, though.

 I am so guilty of this.

Of course, I usually wear a baseball cap because I buzz all my hair off, so I'd rather not get sunburned. And sometimes, I flip it backwards, because I get tired of the bill lingering above my vision, but still don't wanna cook my scalp.

Besides... I do act 12.

Speaking of this - I just realized, I was wearing my hat backwards for the Neil Gaiman thing, and you even said "liked the pic you used too."

I'd like to think that my AMAZING charisma over shadowed the fact I was wearing a hat backwards.

You know what makes me so great? How humble I am.

I don't wear hats, but I've never understood this. Why? Why is an object sitting on someone's head a sign of disrespect when inside one's dwelling place? Does it make them taller than the host or something? :P

From what I found:

Also wearing a hat indoors in a persons house was considered bad manners as it meant that you intended to leave immediately after you had just been invited in, more common when most everyone wore a hat outdoors.

What Tawm said. My brother and I were taught that it was good manners. Also we were taught to stop what we were doing and come greet a guest in the house. Reminds me of when my nephew was little (4 or 5 yrs old). I was at his house playing a game with him and a friend of his mother's came over. I told him we had to go upstairs and say hi and he asked me why (he didn't want to stop playing). I told him because she's a guest in his house, it's the polite thing to do, and nice little boys are always polite. He's 19 now and still does it without being prompted.

Admittedly, I don't take off my hat when I go in the house these days. Not out of disrespect, but mostly because I wear a hat so frequently that I often forget it's there to take off. (It's like when I walk around the house, pissed off that I can't find my sunglasses, and they're already on my head!)
