Here's where I abandon Space Quest and go with King's Quest. Not that KQ5 is better than SQ4, but I've already voted for that and I know KQ5 is going to get low votes.

And I switch back SQ in this case just because SQ5 is my favorite in the series. Tons of character development, lots of places to visit, some memorable villains, and it's just an overall great adventure story.

Also, why is LSL6 on this list?

EDIT: Never mind. I checked the last poll and saw LSL5 on there. I guess I just skimmed the list, saw "floppies" and thought LSL4 was a joke option. Of course, now this makes it impossible to vote for LSL7 instead of KQ7 later on.

I have to confess that I still have to play through Space Quest V. I started it but I merely looked around a bit. I definitely plan to play it, but in the meantime my vote goes to King's Quest V.

SQIV is probably a better adventure, but KQV has a kind of naive charm that makes it such a nice, amusing game. Furthermore, as a general rule, I prefer KQ's gentle, soothing humor rather than SQ's pop-culture-imbued sarcasm. Finally, KQV has Cedric and, say what you want, I like Cedric.

SQ5 easily!! Great story, great humor, best game in the series. I don't get the praise for KQ5. It's thoroughly ordinary, has a trite and cliche storyline, and of course a particularly punishing and unfair dead end that I will never forget.

For myself, I was torn between SQ4 and SQ5... I ended up going with SQ4, because I had a lot of fun with the time jumping bits. SQ5, would have, otherwise been my clear choice here if SQ4 wasn't present.

SQ5, definitely. I think that was the best out of the SQ series, even better than SQ4.
