Sierra Poll: Post-SCI Era (3D/Other/3rd-Party)
Now onto the final poll before the grand finale of all the winners pitted against eachother. The post-SCI era. Or the "mostly 3D era". None of these games were developed in SCI, whereas the previous poll constituted the final SCI games Sierra would ever develop. I'm also including the two LSL sequels that weren't made by Sierra just because there was room. Fills it out a bit.
I'm going to have to go with King's Quest 8 - Mask of Eternity. I liked it. I really did. It pales in comparison to what other games that came soon after were capable of, but it was quite good for its time. It just doesn't appeal to the mass of KQ6 fans out there. It had a great atmosphere and it's the one game out of this list that I've played the most of (or that I bothered to play more of than the others).

GK3, by far. So very, very far ahead.

I vote for QFG5. It's probably the only 3D game where it still felt like part of the original franchise. It had all the charming characters (Toro!), the same kinds of puzzles, and it gives a nice closure to the series.
As far as the runner-ups go:
- GK3 would have been a good pick, but it didn't feel like it needed to have all those massive 3D environments as it made exploration very difficult. It could have benefited from a 2D camera like QFG5 had.
- I was also leaning towards "Mask of Eternity" just because it's still a pretty darn fun game to play.
- "Time Warp of Dr. Brain" is okay as a casual game. Most of the cred would go towards how they used stop-motion animation in a time where 3D was taking off.
- And shoot me now, but I still have a soft spot for some of the better scenes and characters in LSL:MCL.
I still need to add these SWAT games to my list of must-plays.

How could you include LSL:BOB when it wasn't even developed or published by Sierra? I'd have included other games, like Red Baron, Starsiege or Tribes.
Oh and don't tell me those don't count because they're from a "Sierra Family." SQ5 was developed by Dynamix and QFGV was by Yosemite.

Because they are extensions of franchises that began at Sierra. And in QFG5's case, Yosemite WAS the classic adventure-making Sierra. All the core developers who worked on the Sierra adventures worked at what was eventually dubbed Yosemite as the adventure branch of Sierra in QFG5's time. I believe Black/Chainsaw Monday was when Yosemite shut down.

Gabriel Knight 3 had bad controls and interface. And the graphics weren't that great and made me miss traditional 2D. And the voice-acting wasn't on par with GK2. I don't really like Tim Curry in that role. The story was decent but could've been better.
I liked Quest for Glory 5 overall, but the combat was disappointing. It was just a clickfest and there was no camera zoom, so a lot of times you were a speck fighting another speck in the distance. But the story was decent, and from what I remember, the graphics were a nice compromise between primitive 3D and detailed 2D with its voxel graphics. So QFG5 would've been my second choice.
Those are the only two that I'd even consider but I picked SWAT 4 as my choice. I haven't played SWAT 2 or 3, but besides the horrible "Sonny Bonds" cameo, it was a solid game with great graphics and gameplay. It's especially fun to play with friends. My only complaint is that while realistic, it favors non-lethal action too much. There is absolutely no situation where you are required to use lethal force. I don't remember any cool sniper missions either. And the non-lethal weapons are kind of easy and feel cheap to use. I don't think you got penalized for using them on innocents either, so you didn't have to worry about accidentally shooting hostages or anything. But it was fun and had replay value as you tried to get a perfect score on each map and work as a team.

GK3 all the way, as I believe it is the best game ever!
I nearly bought MOE at a flea market last Sunday, but decided against it when, while grabbing in the box looking for other CDs, I pricked my thumb on a nail that happened to have been left in there carelessly.

Unsurprisingly, my vote is for GK3.

I'll wait for a little while to get a few more votes and to make sure GK3 stays in the lead before adding it the final showdown poll.
