Halloween and Haunted House.
And the girly faces men make when frightened!

What was so scary? IDGI.
Incidentally, am I the only one who thinks those shots were staged? They look staged to me.

I don't know. Some look staged to me too, but some others, like this one, seem more realistic.
Talk to coffee? Even Gabriel isn't that addicted!

They probably have something right there that jumps out at the same time the lights come on and the picture snaps.
I should try and dig up the one from San Diego that some friends and I went through... looks a lot like many of those...
EDIT: Yeah for organized photos!

Re: Halloween and Haunted House.
Oh, I am. Because I tend to run ahead and hide around corners and spring out. Chad (the guy in the very front) wasn't amused, and was going to let everyone else go ahead. Paul, was laughing with me. Christi and Aim do not look like they're laugh. Jer, was definitely laughing with us. The thing is, I live for scaring people in Haunted Houses. Why I haven't worked in one is beyond me.dotkel50 wrote:You guys look like you're laughing though.
But if you crop out the guys and look at Aim and Christi - they're clearly not smiling and look frightened. Especially Christi, who is afraid of everything.

Re: Halloween and Haunted House.
The fun part is bringing someone with you who WILL get scared shitless. Of course... that's probably why Maia won't go to a haunted house with me. She knows I'd find a way to scare her somehow.dotkel50 wrote:Never been to a haunted house....just don't understand what's fun about being scared sh*tless.

Re: Halloween and Haunted House.
Well, everyone is different. I personally enjoy going. It's rare that I myself will get scared; because like DPX said, I favor being in that environment with someone who is prone to that fear, and taking advantage of it! I think it all (whether you're really scared or not) gets the heart pumping if it's all done correctly! It's like watching a good horror movie (not a slasher flick, but a horror movie!) and being the star of the movie! The thing is, the people in the haunted house who work there can never touch you. (Well, at least here in San Diego). And for obvious reasons, all kinds of legal issues mainly (where a woman or man might say they were touched in appropriately). They can, however get inches within touching you. And that's the fun, when you have someone dressed as Jason lumbering towards you, and stops just inches in front of you. Good stuff.dotkel50 wrote:Never been to a haunted house....just don't understand what's fun about being scared sh*tless.
That fact that you have never been to a haunted house, is probably why you think it looks staged. I bet of those 50 photos, there was hundreds that were not used, because they looked like the one I posted of myself and my friends. There are people who are SERIOUSLY terrified of Haunted Houses, and yet the brave it for the thrill. It's those people that they get, with those pictures, that they probably use. While photos, like the one of myself, are discarded.

I know!dotkel50 wrote:Never been to a haunted house....just don't understand what's fun about being scared sh*tless.
Maybe if I knew it was only mildly spooky I would go, but I don't like the idea of people jumping out at me and invading my personal space. After I recovered, I'd probably be inclined to injure them, so it's for their sake as much as my own I don't go.
I don't like horror movies either. Being scared isn't fun for me. My imagination is way too big and takes way too long to recover.
Re: Halloween and Haunted House.
For something like that to even remotely scare me I would have to believe in the supernatural on at least some level. There are enough horrors in the real world to be sacred of. Hoever, like Tawm and DPX I guess that there is enough of a sadistic streak to get a bit of a kick out of scaring someone else. That said, I do recognize that there is also the difference between being startled and being scared. Someone unexpectedly jumping out at you my give you a start, but that is not the same thing as being scared. It is just a reflexive reaction much the same as yanking your hand back when you touch something that you didn't expect to be hot.

DPX, if I ever can afford to cross the pond, I'll come along with you. You'll have a blast. If they have good music, I'll love it anyway.
It's weird, I don't believe in anything supernatural, but I can get so scared in them. It's the Shivers-effect: once you got the first Ixupi-startle that threw you off your chair, you start being scared it'll happen again and explore extra carefully. The best haunted "house" for starts is a travelling German one called Tal der Könige.

Re: Halloween and Haunted House.
These are so hilarious! They were going around at work a few weeks back.
What they were seeing was a car accelerating toward them and it would stop at the last second, flash, and take your picture! That's why some of them are shielding themselves and running away!
Tawm, the room you're in looks like something from GK1 in the underground hounfour!
