Well, we finally got off the World of Warcraft kick in the house (5 years? 6?) and are now either going back to old stuff (hello, QFG and GK) or looking into something new. I just got the hubby Alice: Madness Returns, and he seems to like it.

Some day I think I'll give Skyrim a try.

Be careful. Skyrim is almost as addictive as WoW. :P I got Skyrim a few days after it came out, and played and played and played and played and played. (And played). :P It is HUGE. Trying to play it all will take a long, LONG time. I only took a break from it a couple days ago to play DA:O again - which turned out to be as fun as I remember. ;)

I'm redoing the ending of Mass Effect 2, in preparation for Mass Effect 3. So many good single-player games in the last 12 months!

Tin, if you guys are looking for some newer games to play cooperatively, we'd recommend looking into Borderlands, Portal 2, and Titan Quest (plus the expansion). They're all different, but one of them might interest you, depending on what kind of games you guys like to play. You can probably get them for a good price on Steam during one of their sales. They are a lot of fun to play together.

Tin, if you and ACG want to get Portal 2 (you'll need two copies), I have some Valve coupons you could use that give up to 33% off. They're only good until March 1st, however, so if you want them, send me a PM with your Steam names.

Labyrinth of Crete for CD-i. Aside from the utterly annoying sound effects it's a pretty fun puzzle adventure, with more puzzle than adventure. Plenty of fun logic puzzles with a twist and decent graphics.

Thanks for the offer DP and Maia, but we don't even have a PS3, so that's a no on Portal 2.

I've personally been trying to wean myself off MMOs and sticking to non-online stuff. And ... well, he's been looking at all his older stuff too, to see if he can even run it on the new computers.

I don't generally make them available to the public, but I do have some installers for some older non-Sierra games. What games are we taking about?

Tin, you do know that Portal 2 is also on the PC, right? :?

Steam is primarily for the PC and Mac. There a few games available on it for the PS3, I think, but those are definitely in the minority.

I'm not a big fan of playing most online games either. All three of those play more like a single-player game that you play with a partner, since we set them up as LAN games so that only the two of us are playing together. I much prefer that over MMOs most of the time. It's a totally different experience.

Of course, if you want to play completely alone and focus more on the story, then those aren't for you (except maybe the single-player part of Portal 2, which is on PC).

Maia and I've been playing the Mass Effect 3 demo quite a bit lately.

Here's my review of it in the ME3 thread. :)

Hey Dot, did you see the Java port of DOSBox + WINE thread? Just in case you need a quick Caesar III fix. ;)
