Thanks for sharing! So cool to hear he made his own engine even before Sierra!

I'd sell what little was left of my soul for some of those originals... Just to know it was from Al Lowe's actual coding.... Especially LSL2.

But 2.3 Thousand (And climbing) is too rich for my blood.

It's now just over $8,000.

If I may digress, I have to wonder if some of the younger viewers on YouTube is even aware of what 5.25" and 3.5" disks are. I haven't seen them in donkey's years - the last time I touched 3.5" disks was at the beginning of 2003. Back then, I'd started a diploma course in network engineering, and I was asked why I still used 3.5" disks when USB keys were coming in. My reply was simple: they were portable and I could save my work. ;)

The next day, I went out and got a USB key. It had a 256 MB capacity and cost $110. ;) Oh, how much easier it was to have a little thing like that instead of 5 boxes of disks. And there was much rejoicing. :P

Of course, nowadays you can get much cheaper USB keys with a much greater capacity, but this was 15 years ago, back when dinosaurs ruled the earth...

Confirmed it was Activision Lawyers who brought down the source code auctions...

Interesting. I've seen posts on other forums where people have mused whether or not Activision even understood that they owned SCI code. Apparently they do.
