I recognize most of the characters there, but who are the two ladies at the right of the window (wearing blue dresses)? And who's the old man in the picture (next to the picture of Freddy Pharkas)? ;)

From right to left: King Graham, QfG Hero, Cedric, Alexander (and Alexander's beau - I forget her name), Larry, Roger with two aliens, ??? and ??? (possibly KQ-related), Laura Bow, ??? (picture of old man), picture of Freddy Pharkas, Gabriel Knight (behind the counter). ;)

Indeed King's Quest - it's Valice (sp?) and Rosella. And yes, Laura Bow. "Old Man" you should recognize... since Collector uses it as his avatar. From Doctor Brain.

???

(I believe Fenrus would like to have a word with you about Collector's avatar; it's not the same character you're thinking of...)

Hah! You're right! I don't know why I thought Collector used him as an avatar?

Erm, Valice is a village in Slovakia (yes, I had to look that up). A valise (note spelling) is a small travelling bag or suitcase. (And no, I didn't have to look that up). ;)

I presume you mean Valanice? ^_^

I don't know why you thought Collector uses the Dr Brain image as his avatar. AFAIK, Collector always used either the QfG5 Dr Cranium or the QfG4 Dr Cranium. ;)

On the other paw, Cranium is another word for Brain - maybe that's why the confusion! :)

In English, "beau" is a term for "boyfriend or male admirer," so unless there's something you know about Alexander that we don't, I'll assume you meant to write "belle" when referring to Cassima.

And yes, I realize both "beau" and "belle" are French words, but the English usage of those words doesn't match up entirely with the original French usage.

I might not be so crazy after all?

Perhaps he used it before changing it to the current one and that's what I am remembering?

Awesome image!

According to the Coles, Dr. Cranium is sort of unofficially officially related to Dr. Brain (great grandfather or something). Corey designed Castle of Dr. Brain.

Whoops. I had no idea about the difference between "beau" and "belle". I thought "beau" wasn't gender-specific. Oh, well. ;) Although I'm surprised these terms mean that, because don't they really mean "beautiful" (as in "beau geste" - "beautiful gesture", or "belle of the ball" - "beauty of the ball")? ;)

Though as a general rule we know
two strings go to every bow,
Make up your minds that grief 'twill bring
if you've two beaux to every string! ;)

Beau and belle are both adjectives. Along with bel these all mean beautiful. "Belle" is used for words that are feminine and "beau" for masculine words.
Un beau garçon, un beau chanson, or the magazine Beau Monde.Une belle fille, la belle musique, for feminine words. Or as the famous song by Michel Fugain goes: "C'est un beau roman, c'est une belle histoire".
Bel is used for masculine words that start with a vowel.

Hmm. Isn't Bel also an ancient god? *thinks* It sounds familiar - let me look it up.

*a quick wiki later*

Yes! :D The Babylonian chief god Marduk was also known as Bel in Akkad and as Bal or Baal in Pheonicia (today's Lebanon). W00t! Ancient mythology FTW! :geek:
