Soooooo ...... Witcher 2. As this is my first Witcher game, I thought I'd offer some thoughts.
I'm about half-way through chapter 2 now, and I'm just wondering what's the matter with this game, because chapter 1 was very depressing and chapter 2 looks very much the same.
By depressing, I mean dirty and racist. The village outside Flotsam was
full of mud, dirty pigs running around, dirty kids. Flotsam itself wasn't much either --
mud everywhere, and everyone was anti-elf, anti-dwarf and anti-Witcher. ![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)
It made me wonder, why the *heck* am I even here?

The only slightly bright spot was when Triss and the Witcher
found that underground cavern thing.
Anyway, finally got out of there
after everything burned down and on to the next challenge - a
military camp belonging to some king or other. But again,
there's mud everywhere, and everyone is anti-elf and anti-Witcher.
The similarities don't end there, oh deary me no. Both chapters start with
a battle where you are protected by magic, and both chapters feature
simple-minded idiots that I somehow have to care about. My question is,
why should I care about them? They're morons -- and I include the King in that.
Please tell me that eventually this thing will get a bit brighter. At the moment, it's looking very filthy and hopeless.
