This is a really tough one to pick. I went for Usher because of the awesome Phantasmagoria track.

I voted for Mark Seibert... he was the one who wrote Consumite Furore... and Land Beyond Dreams...

And, if I'm not mistaken, Lady in the Tower... It really was a tough one but in the end I had to chose Robert Holmes, for his work on the lost Wagner opera.

I was going to go with Mark Seibert under the impression that he did KQ6, but had to go back and do a little research after I saw Chris Braymen's name on there. The music in that game is absolutely perfect - moreso than Seibert's song at the end in my opinion. Even the "rock climbing" music is memorable. The whole soundtrack has a way of capturing "epic" without resorting to the usual over-the-top hero themes. It's very relaxing to listen to at work.

So much of this music is indelibly etched into my brain, including the music from QfG4, but much of that was not written by Aubrey Hodges. Even though I like much of what Mark Seibert and Robert Holmes did, I have to go with Braymen. By the way, Girl in the Tower was written by Mark Seibert.

On a side note, the Sierra Soundtrack Collection was just up on eBay, but I was not in a position to snipe it.

If I had my choice of ANY game's composers, I'd have chosen Harry Gregson-Williams, who's best known video game work is from the Metal Gear Solid series, especially MGS3.

However... since this poll is strictly about Sierra's composers, I went with Mark Seibert.

Who wrote it then? I searched Mobygames.com and Audrey Hodges, unless I've seriously overlooked someone, is the only name listed under 'Music'.

Grieg? Where do you get that from? I just checked the actual QFG4 games credits and only Aubrey Hodges is credited.

Such a hard decision! Although I enjoy all songs from each of those games (plus EcoQuest 2, by Dan Kehler, I had to go with Chris Braymen. Each song describes each scene so perfectly. Even if you have never played the game, just by listening to each song gives you a pretty good description of the scene.

Absolutely Mark Seibert. Such great soundtracks. KQ5 (like you said), Police Quest II, Conquests of Camelot and parts of Longbow. Ken Allen is second. I notice you don't have him in the poll. He wrote quite a few soundtracks including Colonel's Bequest, SQ4, SQ1VGA, and helped Seibert with KQ5 along with Chris Brayman and Rob Atesalp. Chris Brayman comes in third. A talented musician/composer though he is (probably even more technically than Allen or Seibert), Mark and Ken both really know how to capture an atmosphere in a very specific way that gravitates me towards it. Especially Mark Seibert.
