Maia and I are currently playing a WiiWare game called NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits. It's two-player co-op, where one person control's Nyx's actions while the other employs her magical powers. The game is set in Ancient Greece (or at least the developer's concept of it).

NQ:KS is fun, but very unforgiving. Nyx can get hurt easily and dies if a column strikes her at all. Playing co-op is a challenge at first since both players need to coordinate their efforts. Playing single-player is even tougher since all movement and action is dependent on one person.

Recently finished Sam & Max Season One. Great fun. Now that TMI Chapter 2 is out that'll be tying up my time. I'm also working on Myst III and I've been trying to start Circle of Blood (aka Broken Sword 1 - Shadow of the Templars) for the first time on my Wii but I encountered a problem and it crashed (through ScummVM not the retail Director's Cut). I'll have to try again later sometime.

Right now I'm trying to make a video playthrough of Frankenstein: Through The Eyes Of The Monster. Somehow none of my screen recording programmes is properly working so it's going to take quite some time...

Just finished doing that! Whew... total respect for all you regular game walkthrough makers, it was very annoying!

Now: on to Grim Fandango!

So I finally finished Mass Effect. Really good game. I loved the story and the characters. I especially liked the voice acting for the female Shepard and how the dialogue options weren't over-the-top good or bad. They were perfect for the character.

Now to finish Bioshock.

I just recently finished playing The Neverhood, which was lucky to find at a nearby thrift store. It was every bit as weird as I expected it to be, and the amount of work that must have gone into making a claymation game of this scale must have been phenomenal. I had no idea Dreamworks Interactive made this game, either.

Though the game was funny, parts of it tended to be rather hit-and-miss -- there would often be overly long delays and pauses in the middle of cutscenes that would sort of drain the intended comedic effect, and even the serious scenes tended to drag to the point where I was thinking, "Er...what am I supposed to be feeling right now? Suspense? Fear? Ennui?"

The only real problem I encountered was discovering that you can't restore saved games if you're running The Neverhood under WinXP unless you download a patch to fix the problem.

I haven't played the Neverhood in ages! But I'll always remember that music that plays when you're in the first room with the big hammer.

I just finished playing all the "Wallace and Gromit" games. I liked how Telltale managed to capture the simply humor and wit from the show, and especially liked how you could see thumbprints on some of the characters. Although the puzzles in the last episode seemed unusually hard. The solution was always one mouse-click away, but it would take forever figuring out where that one little mouse-click was because you're inclined to click on everything else first.

Maia and I are currently playing Left 4 Dead. L4D was specifically designed for co-op multiplayer and it's a lot of fun. It can be quite challenging (even on Easy Mode) and sometimes your AI team mates get screwed up ("Louis! Get back here!") which is why you want REAL players controlling everyone if at all possible.

Anyway... you can make spray paint designs and here's one of my creations. ;)

Wow... The graphics seem really crisp and smooth!

Unfortunately, I doubt that I'd be able to play the game. This kind of survival horror, being it a movie or a game, scares the hell out of me

Maia and I got a great deal on Team Fortress 2 ($9.99 each and that's Canadian prices!), so we're playing it together now. I remember playing Team Fortress Classic, so it only took me about ten minutes to relearn the game.

The game's design is very lighthearted and cartoony. Sure, you kill enemies, but the characters all look quite silly. TF2 is nowhere near as serious as most games online shooters.

There's not a whole lot to TF2. There's no story at all. The again, it wasn't designed for that. It's purely an online team-based shooter and in that respect, it's awesome.

I'm really enjoying this. The last time I had this much fun in an online team-based game was probably Battlefield 2. I actually had MORE fun in Starsiege, but that's mostly because I knew everyone else.

My video card has been replaced and everything is up and running, just in time for Dragon Age. :D I've been messing around with their downloadable character creator while I wait for it to be released and I have to say that the characters look really good. I love the amount of customisation available. My only (small) complaint is the hair options. Their are disappointingly few long-hair options and those that do exist could be better.

Other than that, DPX and I are still playing Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 together. I'd like to try finishing Bioshock, but I'm not sure that's going to happen right now. I've also been playing Sam & Max Season One on and off.

I'm playing Age of Empires III, NWN1, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Again. :P

I'm also hoping to replay (in the fullness of time) GK1, GK3, QfG1-5, Discworld II, Discworld Noir, MI3, MI4, and Grim Fandango. Again. :P

(And to do that, I'm planning to use an old Win98 computer that I have...) ;)

I'm making a companion of Voyeur, a CD-I game that tried but failed to save the console. It's a mighty cute (ahem) FMV adventure. And today I found out the link between Voyeur and Sierra: Denise Loveday plays in both Voyeur and Phantasmagoria II (Curtis's Mom).
