Got a used PS4 Pro recently. Need something to play my triple A games on since my computer kicked the bucket a year ago. Been playing No Mans' Sky again. It's really come a long way since it first came out. It's actually fun now. Also, Tetris Effect is a phenomenal Tetris game. I'm still torn about which is better between it and Tetris 99. Also picked up Doom because I miss playing it and Horizon Zero Dawn which is an AWESOME open world game and the one I'm most invested in right now. Also borrowed God of War from my sister because I've long wanted to go through it. Spiderman also came with the console and that's great fun too. So many games to play...

The Spider-Man game looks amazing; the husband of the woman I DM (D&D) for, plays it while we're there.

Also; since you have the PS4... when Final Fantasy VII Remake comes out... I will be envious of you.

It's also coming for switch. But I guess it would look better on the PS4. I might actually enjoy it as I usually dislike turn-based combat RPG games but I heard that this remake is more like FFXV without that, but you can toggle between. I could be wrong about that?

Yeahbutwhat - it's coming to the Switch too? Sweet!

Wait...
Is Ffvii remake coming to switch?
A spokesperson told VGC: “As previously announced, Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released for the PlayStation 4 on March 3rd 2020. We have no plans for other platforms.” We can all accept it now: Final Fantasy VII Remake will not release on the Nintendo Switch.Jul 11, 2019
Also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_VII_Remake

Not showing any form of Switch release.

And https://www.techradar.com/news/final-fa ... and-rumors

states:
However, Square Enix confirmed in a statement to IGN that Final Fantasy 7 will only release on PS4 on March 3, 2020 (we know know the release date is April 10) and that there are “no plans for other platforms”. Whether this means there are no plans for other platforms just on March 3 or whether there are no plans for other platforms for good is unconfirmed but so far it seems like the game will be a PS4 exclusive. Microsoft has deemed the Facebook video which was quickly removed an “internal mistake”.
So... Yeah. I see nothing about it coming to Switch. :(

I don't know how I got my wires crossed there. Must be the original rerelease I was thinking of. I know I saw FF7 in a Nintendo Direct in some capacity. Makes sense that it's not the remake though.

So my envy - should you get the FFVII Remake - will be reborn.

Replaying "Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands" now. So thankful for Xbox One backwards compatibility. I never finished the "HD" version before, got stuck at the final boss. Better luck this time, I'm hoping.

I also love the Wii version - same title, completely different game. Ah, I miss my Wii, all alone and waiting back in the States...

Decided to finally plat Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove which I backed on Kickstarter...
Since I run a FB page for it and have a YT channel for it.

Toejam & Earl is similar to Sierra to me; has a lot of memories tied to the original game.

Here's a little of the fun...

I just started Jedi Fallen Order and I'd better stop playing new games because I have 4 now I need to get through (Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Spiderman, and now JFO). Good experience in the beginning but I feel like the controls are a little clunky. Actually I probably just need more time to adjust to them. A bit non-standard for what I'm used to. But I'll get it.

From what I've read, people have claimed JFO is "Souls-like," but very few people actually agree on what that actually means. I know the term is based off Dark Souls, but HOW exactly is JFO like DS?

Also, I've read that JFO only uses save points (like the bonfires in DS) which is a major issue for me. If I can't save when and where I want, that game had better at least have a "save & quit" function. If it doesn't even have that, then it's a "massive sale/bargain bin" title for me at best.

Not that I am aware of.

I have been forcing myself to try and finish Mass Effect: Andromeda... interesting that last night, I apparently found a bug in a quest ("Cold, hard Cache") - where if you do one small sequence out of order; you still can proceed; but the datapad becomes impossible to acquire even though the navpoint takes you to it.

Which apparently EA is aware of; but has ended all "single player support" - so whatever's broke, will remain forever broke.

So... you know... that helps add to the positive experience of ME:A....

I haven't played much of JFO yet, but Souls games are in constant autosave. Bonfires are just travel and upgrade points, but not save points. You can't actually manually save anywhere since the game is in an eternal state of autosave. It's a way for them to make sure you can't restore a previous save point because you mess up or don't like something that you did.

Okay, that's even worse, but thanks for telling me. Now I know to avoid JFO entirely. :)

To be fair, there is always seems to be one thing wrong in a Mass Effect game. Conrad Verner's dialog in ME2. There's also a quest there that won't clear if you pick one of the options (I forget which one). That said, ME:A was a big step down from the rest of the franchise, but a glitched quest is the least of its sins.
