GK4 Campaign Forum Down?

Am I the only experiencing problems visiting the GK4 Campaign forum? The site is in place, but the forum seems gone to me (I only get a blank page).

Well, considering how stagnant the GK4 campaign has become, I wouldn't be surprised if the boards there (and the website) were taken down. Right now it seems like an extra cost that's not even doing anything to promote GK.

I agree with DPX on how stagnant GK4campaign has become. Heck, the last "news" on the site was that the forums were set up, and when was that? Al hasn't been around for a very VERY long time, not even hopping in to say a quick hello to the community and old friends, not even on her own forums the last time I checked, and you're not going to convince me that she didn't have the opportunity to do so after, what, nearly 2 years?

She has had some serious health issues and has had to work extra to pay for it. I really miss her presence, but understand her situation. Still I wish she would at least make an occasional post to let us know that she is all right.

On another note, I did manage to make a backup of the forum's data base right before it went down. If she does not resurface I can setup a forum on SHP to temporarily host the forums. It wouldn't have Santi's GK theme, but all of the threads/posts would still be there.

If the web was to wipe out things that were "stagnant" - then 99% of the websites out there would vanish. I don't think it matters whether it's "stagnant" or not - but a matter of whether you care about the subject of your website. As Collector said, Alm has had some things in life that have taken her away from being able to do many things she normally enjoys; so things like this slip past her attention. But I don't think she - or several (like Andrea) care any less for GK. By all means, I would say the site should keep going so long as Alm wants it to keep going. And if she was to say she was done, I would instantly host all of that information on my own site, if for no other reason than to preserve all the work, time and effort she and others have put into it.

Something happened again to the GK4 forums. This is the error message I'm getting these days:

Al never did give me FTP access, so there is not much that I can do about it and she is nearly impossible to get a hold of these days. Any of the GK fans can inhabit the GK part of this board in the mean time.

I think I know the answer to this, and it's going to suck...

I have been reading over all the emails, and have just been in touch with the tech server guys - they don't have an uncorrupted backup of the GK forum, so I need to find out whether anyone does have a backup.

Do you know whether anyone does at all?

I don't think anyone else was an admin, who might have backed up the forum's database on some wild chance... so the previous version of the forum may be lost...
