Seems like a family reunion more than anything with Carver also being related to the main character. Fenris seems to have an interesting story - so I am curious about that one - though disappointed, when I saw the name, I figured it'd be another hound, which I would have enjoyed. Since I can't have Bethany, Isabela makes a VERY fine replacement - beautiful and a pirate. What more could I ask for? Merrill looks a little rough, but interesting to see Merrill in the game. I got the signature edition - but I found this to be disappointing: Sebastian Vael, an archer of noble birth, is a companion in Dragon Age II available through the The Exiled Prince DLC which is included with the Signature Edition. Mostly because the game isn't out and there's already DLC for it. But I suppose if you're forking over the extra cash for the signature edition, you might as well get some content... And we shall see how Varric turns out - not too much on him.

Re: Dragon Age II
I am glad to see Anders made it into Dragon Age II. That makes me happy so far. Reading up on Aveline ... I can't tell whether I will like her or not. But it seems to be leaning more towards the not... as I am not too much of a fan of the overly angst characters... unless done right. It's a shame that Bethany is related to the main character; because that's where my romantic interest would be! She's a hottie!

Re: Dragon Age II
I wonder if your character wasa Mage in DA:O and you import that data (which you can do so some events change based on what the Warden did), does that somehow affect Hawke, Bethany and Carver? They're apparently related to the Mage Warden, so you'd think that'd have some greater importance than the Warden being from any other origin story.
Tawmis, I think a lot of guys wish the main character wasn't related to Bethany.
I'd also like to know why Anders isn't still a Grey Warden. It's not like you can retire or give up your status.

Re: Dragon Age II
I'm quite happy about Ander's return, even if I don't like that he's inhabited by a spirit of Justice. I really didn't like Justice in Awakening.
About the other characters, Aveline doesn't interest me in the least, at least judging from what they have revealed of the character so far. And I'm pretty sure I won't experience Bethany, at least the first time, since I plan on playing a mage. Luckily, Carver is interesting as well, so I can't complain. I like Fenris and I think he has a fascinating background. I also think that my character and Isabela will get along pretty well. Same goes for Merril. Sebastian Vael, whom I'll get thanks to the Signature Edition, seems quite interesting and I really liked his trailer, as brief as it was. Varric is another character that doesn't interest me: I don't like dwarves very much and I doubt Varric will change my mind.
Regarding to the romance options, nothing as been confirmed as of yet, but I really hope that Fenris is the same-sex m/m option, or Sebastian. I'm quite sure Isabela will be the f/f option, since in Origins she was clearly bisexual.

Re: Dragon Age II
MAJOR SPOILER:
I've read that ONE of your siblings dies sometime early in the game. I'm not quite sure how the game determines this, but I have a few ideas: by gender, class or through a Virmire-like situation.
Personally, I hope it's a choice like between Ashley and Kaidan. Sure, it sucks that one of them has to die, but at least it's a choice you get to make. If the game determines it based on class or gender, well... that sucks.

Re: Dragon Age II
I don't think it's a major spoiler; perhaps a minor one, but nothing game breaking. Sure, we now know one sibling is going to die and presumably based upon the player character's class. However, we don't know when, where and why this will happen. I doubt it'll be immediately obvious.Tawmis wrote:MAJOR SPOILER:Did a developer reveal this? As I've stated before, I think having a sibling (or anyone) die based purely on class is dumb. I would've much preferred death occur by your own good and bad choices.

I wouldn't say it's game breaking; but any time you know ahead of time a character is going to die in a game; I'd consider that a major spoiler, especially if they're an NPC that joins your party.DeadPoolX wrote: I don't think it's a major spoiler; perhaps a minor one, but nothing game breaking.

I am going to pass on reading/viewing more spoilers. I am actually still kind of bummed to know the one element mentioned above.
